Ismail Fazil known for his stage name Farhaan Faasil (born 26 May 1990) is an Indian film actor working in Malayalam cinema. He debuted in 2014 with Njan Steve Lopez directed by Rajeev Ravi. He is the younger son of filmmaker Fazil and brother of actor Fahadh Faasil. [2] [3] [4]


Early life

Farhaan Faasil was born as Ismail Fazil to the popular Malayalam director Fazil and Rozina. He has two sisters Ahameda and Fathima. His elder brother Fahadh Faasil is an actor in Malayalam cinema. Nazriya Nazim is his sister-in-law. [5]

Film career

Farhaan Faasil played the lead role in Rajeev Ravi's second directorial venture Njan Steve Lopez which was released in 2014. [6] [7] [8] His next release was 2017 Romantic-Comedy film Basheerinte Premalekhanam directed by Aneesh Anwar. [9] In 2019 his previous film Under World along with Asif Ali hit the theatres.

Rajeev Ravi is an Indian cinematographer, director, and producer from Kochi, Kerala. He's best known for his Hindi and Malayalam films. After graduating from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune in 1997, he started his career by assisting in the Malayalam film, Pranayavarnangal (1998) shot by Santosh Thundiyil. He debuted as an independent cinematographer with the film Chandni Bar (2001) directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. Ravi is known for his collaboration with director Anurag Kashyap. They have collaborated in several commercial and art films in Hindi cinema. In 2012, he co-produced the Hindi feature film ID. The film premiered in the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea. Ravi won the 2010 Filmfare Award for Best Cinematography for Anurag Kashyap's Dev.D. In 2013, he received the National Film Award for Best Cinematography for Liar's Dice directed by his wife Geetu Mohandas.

Fahadh Faasil Indian actor and producer

Fahadh Faasil is an Indian actor and producer who predominantly works in Malayalam films. He has acted in more than 40 films and has received several awards, including a National Film Award, four Kerala State Film Awards and three Filmfare Awards South. Fahadh is the son of filmmaker Fazil. Fahadh began his film career at the age of 19 by starring in the leading role in his father Fazil's 2002 romantic film Kaiyethum Doorath, which was a critical and commercial failure. After a gap of 7 years, Fahadh made his comeback with the anthology film Kerala Cafe (2009), in the short film Mrityunjayam. He attained public attention for his role as Arjun in the thriller film Chaappa Kurishu (2011). Fahad won his first Kerala State Film Award, the Best Supporting Actor Award for his performance in Chaappa Kurishu along with his performance in Akam.
