Faridupur Zilla School is a secondary school in Faridpur, the headquarters of Faridpur District, Bangladesh. In 1840, [1] the then district magistrate Edgar Ef Luther, established a school named English Seminary School. In 1851, the British Government took responsibility of the institution and named it Faridpur Zilla School.
Divisions are the first-level administrative divisions in Bangladesh. As of 2024, there are eight divisions of Bangladesh, each named after the major city within its jurisdiction that also serves as the administrative seat of that division. Each division is divided into several districts which are further subdivided into upazilas(sub-districts), then union councils.
Jasimuddin, popularly called Palli Kabi, was a Bangladeshi poet, lyricist, composer and writer widely celebrated for his modern ballad sagas in the pastoral mode. Although his full name is Jasim Uddin Mollah, he is known as Jasim Uddin. His Nakshi Kanthar Math and Sojan Badiar Ghat are considered among the best lyrical poems in the Bengali language. He is the key figure for the revivals of pastoral literature in Bengal during the 20th century. As a versatile writer, Jasimuddin wrote poems, ballads, songs, dramas, novel, stories, memoirs, travelogues, etc.

His Father Mohammad Hashim was a Sub-Inspector of Bengal Police. His Mother Tayebatunnisa Khatun was a landlord. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1974, Presidency Award in 1970 and Adamjee Literary Award in 1965 in the poetry category.

Kanaipur School & College is a secondary school and college located in Kanaipur Union, Sadar Upazila, Faridpur District, Bangladesh. The school was first established in 1937 as Kanaipur High School. The school was upgraded to the higher secondary level on June 7, 2023 and renamed Kanaipur School & College. Bengali is the language of all the institutional activities of the institution. Under the institution there is provision of secondary education for five years at school level and higher secondary education for two years at college level. The school currently has Shah Mohammad Shahjahan Molla as its acting principal. The current president of the school is Tamanna Tasnim.
