Federal College of Education, Yola is one of the post secondary institution in Adamawa State. It is located in Jimeta, Yola and the current provost is Dr. Mohammed Usman Degereji. [1] [2] [3] [4]
Federal College of Education Yola (formerly known as Federal Advanced Teachers’ College FATC) was established as a teacher training institution in 1974 and it was not opened until 1975 with one hundred and fifty students. [5] In 1984, it was renamed as Federal College of Education and in 1989, it became autonomous in line with the Degree No, 4 of 1989 that founded National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) as a regulatory body for the colleges. Adamawa State Polytechnic is a tertiary educational institution in Yola, Adamawa State, Nigeria. It was established in 1991 through a merger of the College of Preliminary Studies Yola and the Staff Development Institute, Numan. The new polytechnic provides national diploma programs in computer science, statistics, accountancy, business studies and secretarial studies. The polytechnic, run by the State government, is accredited by the National Board for Technical Education. The institution has become affiliated with the University of Maiduguri for the purpose of running degree programmes.

The Adeyemi federal university of education is a federal government higher education institution located in Ondo City, Ondo State, Nigeria. It is affiliated with Obafemi Awolowo University for its degree programmes. Adeyemi College of Education was named after Canon M. C. Adeyemi in recognition of his immense contribution to educational development in the then Ondo Province.
Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo also known as FCE OYO was established on 5 October 1977, as Federal Advanced Teacher's college (Special). The institution, according to a UNDP/UNESCO 1996 report (NIR/87/008) "... Has the best qualify Staff in Special Education not only in Nigeria but in West, North, East and Central Africa." The College is the only one of its kind in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. It has the largest conglomeration of disabled students that could be found in any Higher Institution in Nigeria and the largest concentration of specialized facilities for teaching and training of teachers of the Handicapped in Nigeria. During its 40th anniversary celebration, the college gave special recognition award to former President Olusegun Obasanjo whose military administration brought about the upgrading of the Institution from the then Federal Advanced Teachers College to a College of Education with the mandate to award the National Certificate of Education (NCE) in 1977.

Federal College of Education, Zaria is a College of Science and Art based in Zaria, Nigeria. It was established by the then Northern Region Government of Nigeria in November 1962. It was initially named Northern Secondary Teachers College and later known as Advanced Teachers’ College Zaria, under the administrative and policy control of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, until 1991. The institution was initially located at the present site of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic (Annex) before it was moved to Gyallesu, opposite Ahmadu Bello University, Kongo Campus - Zaria in 1973. it was later disarticulated from ABU, Zaria and renamed Federal College of Education, Zaria. in May 2015, it was converted to a University of Education, together with some other Colleges in the Country, by the PDP government. later in August same year, the APC government reversed the conversion to its former status as Federal College of Education, Zaria, including all the others.
National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) is the regulator of Nigerian colleges of education. It formulates National Policy framework for the full development of teacher education and training of teachers. NCCE defines minimum standards for all programmes of teacher education and accredit their certificates and other academic awards.

Dr Aliyu Idris Funtua is a Nigerian academic and the Provost of Federal College of Education, Katsina. He became the 13th Provost of the College on August 19, 2016, after President Muhammadu Buhari approved his appointment. Prior to this appointment, he was the Deputy as well as the Acting Provost of the college. He holds a PhD in Hausa Language from Bayero University, Kano in 2016.
