...Feels Like Breakin' Shit is the first B-side compilation album by American alternative rock band Self, released for free via Spongebath Records and DreamWorks Records as an internet download.
After the completion of Self's Subliminal Plastic Motives (1995) and The Half-Baked Serenade (1997), lead member Matt Mahaffey had a collection of songs scrapped from both albums. [2] He made several CD-Rs compiling the songs, with ...Feels Like Breakin' Shit written on the disc. These were shared with friends and employees of Spongebath Records and DreamWorks Records, [3] leading multiple label executives to encourage Mahaffey to put out the compilation. It was officially released as a free Internet download through both labels in November 1997. [2] Fans were encouraged to make their own artwork for the album, as none was included with the digital files. Mahaffey made his own cover for it in 1999. [4]
...Feels Like Breakin' Shit widely varies in style through its tracklist, such as techno instrumentation on the opening song "Having Dinner With the Funk". Various cover songs additionally appear, including a frenetic cover of Prince's "Let's Pretend We're Married" and parodies of the Pixies' "Gigantic" as "Titanic" and Alanis Morissette's "Ironic" as "Moronic". Laurent of Indiepoprock praised the compilation's quality, suggesting that the songs "Pumpkinhead" and "Dog You Are" would've fit on Subliminal Plastic Motives. [1] "Dog You Are" was played during live shows beginning in 1996, stated by Mahaffey to be about a critic from Utah who negatively reviewed Subliminal Plastic Motives. [5]

Suicidal Tendencies is an American crossover thrash band formed in 1980 in Venice, California, by vocalist Mike Muir. The band has undergone various lineup changes, with Muir as the only remaining original member. Their current lineup includes Muir, guitarists Dean Pleasants and Ben Weinman, bassist Tye Trujillo and drummer Jay Weinberg. Pussy Galore was an American garage rock band formed by students at Brown University in 1984. They had a constantly fluid line-up until their demise in 1990, with vocalist-guitarist Jon Spencer as the sole member through the band's history. God Lives Underwater was an American rock band, formed during 1993 in Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania by vocalist/programmer David Reilly and guitarist/programmer Jeff Turzo. They were later joined by guitarist Andrew McGee and drummer Adam Kary. After recording a self-titled EP in late 1993 and self-distributing it the following year, the band signed to Rick Rubin's label American Recordings, and the EP was nationally released in early 1995. Later that same year, the band released the full-length album Empty. God Lives Underwater then signed with A&M Records and released Life in the So-Called Space Age in 1998, which spawned their most successful single "From Your Mouth". After a period of internal issues and label shifts, the band's final album was released in 2004, Up Off the Floor. Reilly then unexpectedly died at the age of 34 on October 16, 2005.

"Bitches Ain't Shit" is the final song of Dr. Dre's 1992 album The Chronic. Though never a single, it was an underground hit that contributed significantly to the album's sales. In addition to Dre's verse, "Bitches Ain't Shit" also features Dat Nigga Daz, Kurupt and singer Jewell. It proved controversial due to its prevalent themes of misogyny.

Both members of Force & Styles would later record cover versions of the song at later dates, the first was by The Force in 2003 and another was by Ultrabeat versus Darren Styles which appeared on both artists début albums Ultrabeat: The Album (2007) and Skydivin' (2008).
