The Festival du Cross, also known as Festival du Cross-Country, is an annual professional cross country running competition in Carhaix, France. First held in 2023, it takes place in November. As of 2024 [update] it is a World Athletics Cross Country Tour Gold status meeting, the highest level, joining Cross d'Allonnes as the only such meetings in France. [1]
The race is organized by the ALCP Athletics club and the Ligue de Bretagne. It was named after the Festival des Vieilles Charrues. [2] The event takes place over 4 days with the professional races occurring on the final day. [3]
The site put in a bid to host the European Cross Country Championships following the 2023 edition. [4]

Laurent Dufaux is a former professional road cyclist from 1991 to 2004. He was the Swiss National Road Race champion in 1991. He also won the 1998 edition of his home region race, the Tour de Romandie, the 1993 and 1994 editions of the Dauphine Libere, and finished in the top 5 of the Tour de Suisse twice.
Carhaix-Plouguer, commonly known as just Carhaix, is a commune in the French department of Finistère, region of Brittany, France. The commune was created in 1957 by the merger of the former communes Carhaix and Plouguer.
Gourette is a winter sports resort in the French Pyrenees. It is located in the commune of Eaux-Bonnes in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques and the region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine on the D 918 road which passes through the Col d'Aubisque mountain pass. The closest air access is Pau Pyrénées Airport. The resort is at an altitude of 1,400 m (4,600 ft) with a ski area of 140 ha and 42 km (26 mi) of marked slopes. The ski area extends between 1,350 and 2,450 m above sea level. Gourette is part of the N'PY group of ski resorts.

Patinoire Axel Vega, commonly known as Patinoire de Mériadeck after the eponymous Mériadeck quarter, is a multi-purpose arena located in Bordeaux, Gironde, France. As of 2024 it is a World Athletics Cross Country Tour Gold status meeting, the highest level, joining Festival du Cross as the only such meetings in France.
