Fiddle Creek

Fiddle Creek is a stream in northeast Franklin County in east central Missouri. [1]

The stream headwaters are located adjacent to Missouri Route 100 approximately one mile northeast of Gray Summit [2] at 38°30′19″N90°48′21″W / 38.50528°N 90.80583°W / 38.50528; -90.80583 and the confluence with the Missouri River is at 38°35′58″N90°45′45″W / 38.59944°N 90.76250°W / 38.59944; -90.76250 Coordinates: 38°35′58″N90°45′45″W / 38.59944°N 90.76250°W / 38.59944; -90.76250 . [1] [3] The stream enters the Missouri River floodplain after crossing under Missouri Route T at Oetters and then runs along the south margin of the floodplain past St Albans to enter the Missouri River approximately 1.5 miles northeast of St Albans. [2]

Fiddle Creek got its name because fiddling was a popular pastime among early settlers near the creek. [4]

The Bourbeuse River is a river located in east-central Missouri, in the Ozarks region, and is one of two major tributaries of the Meramec River, the other being the Big River. The Bourbeuse flows to the northeast from its source near the locale of Dillon just northeast of Rolla in Phelps County, through Maries, Gasconade, Crawford, and Franklin counties, where it discharges into the Meramec River near Moselle.
