Street hockey is a collection of team sport variants played outdoors either on foot or with wheeled skates, using either a ball or puck designed for play on flat, dry surfaces. The object of every game is to score more goals than the opposing team by shooting the ball or puck into the opposing team's net. All games are derivatives of either the sport of ice hockey, floor hockey, bandy, and/or field hockey.
Ball hockey is a team sport and an off-ice variant of the sport of ice hockey. The sport is also a variant of one of several floor hockey game codes but more specifically a variant of street hockey.
The International Street and Ball Hockey Federation(ISBHF) is the international governing body for the sport of street hockey. It was established in June 1993 in Oshawa, Canada. The ISBHF is headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic. Elio Pascuzzo of Canada is the current ISBHF President following his election to the post for the 2022–2024 term.
The Ball Hockey World Championship is a biannual ball (street) hockey competition for women's and men's national teams. The first women's world championships were played in 2005, located in Pittsburgh, PA. The first championship was played in 1996 in Bratislava. Since the beginning of the best teams in Canada, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The first team to win a medal in addition to Canada, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the team of Italy in 2005 when he won the bronze medal match against Portugal. Since 1999 championship played every two years. Ball Hockey World Championship is organized by ISBHF.

Alicia Furletti-Blomberg is a Canadian ball hockey player and member of the Canadian national ball hockey team. She is a three-time Ball Hockey World Championship gold medallist with the Canadian team, winning in 2013, 2015 and 2022. During 2012 to 2015, Blomberg competed in the women's division of Red Bull Crashed Ice, capturing a bronze medal in 2014.

The tournament began on 14 June 2019, with the gold medal game to be played on 22 June 2019. The Canada women's national ball hockey team defeated the United States women's national ball hockey team in the women's final to capture the gold medal, while the Czech Republic emerged with the bronze.
