Street hockey is a collection of team sport variants played outdoors either on foot or with wheeled skates, using a either a ball or puck designed for play on flat, dry surfaces. The object of every game is to score more goals than the opposing team by shooting the ball or puck into the opposing team's net. All games are derivatives of either the sport of ice hockey, floor hockey, bandy, and/or field hockey.

The Ball Hockey World Championship is a biannual ball (street) hockey competition for women's and men's national teams. The first women's world championships were played in 2005, located in Pittsburgh, PA. The first championship was played in 1996 in Bratislava. Since the beginning of the best teams in Canada, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The first team to win a medal in addition to Canada, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the team of Italy in 2005 when he won the bronze medal match against Portugal. Since 1999 championship played every two years. Ball Hockey World Championship is organized by ISBHF.

During 2012 to 2015, Blomberg competed in the women's division of Red Bull Crashed Ice, capturing a bronze medal in 2014.

The tournament began on 1 June 2017, and the gold medal game was played on 10 June 2017. Slovakia entered the tournament as the defending champions. The Canadian women's national ball hockey team with the bronze medal in women's play, while the United States qualified for the gold medal game for the first time in tournament history.

The 2019 Ball Hockey World Championship was the 13th ball hockey world championship, and was held in Košice, Slovakia. The tournament began on 14 June 2019, with the gold medal game to be played on 22 June 2019. The Canada women's national ball hockey team defeated the United States women's national ball hockey team in the women's final to capture the gold medal, while the Czech Republic emerged with the bronze.
