Finn Nygaard (born 1955) is a graphic designer from Denmark. He has worked professionally in many fields of graphical design, including corporate identity, colour setting, posters, graphic art, layout, and photography. He has exhibited in major galleries and museums around the world and his productions has won him many awards and professional recognition internationally. Nygaard is member of Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) since 1997 and a Graphis Master of Design from 2011. [1]
Finn Nygaard lives and works on the island of Mors in the Limfjord area of Northern Jutland.
Nygaard was born in Aarhus and began serious studies of drawing at the Aarhus Art Academy, at the unusually young age of 14, and later Design School Kolding. His talent and enthusiasm secured him an apprenticeship at Borges Grafiske Tegnestue, a design office in Aarhus, from which he graduated in 1977. He established his own studio in 1979 and has worked professionally with graphic design ever since. In the early 1990s he was part of the design group Eleven Danes and the European Designers Network (EDEN). He is a prolific designer, especially with poster art, and has won many acclaimed awards both in Denmark and internationally. In 1997, he became a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI). [2]
Nygaard has a personal interest in jazz music and he has designed posters for the Aarhus International Jazz Festival specifically for many years, but also several other major jazz events in Denmark. Many of these jazz posters have won him international awards. [3] [4] [5] Among his travels he has studied calligraphy in Japan, China and Korea and has used the technique artistically for numerous ink art productions.
Nygaard gives lectures and conducts workshops around the world on a regular basis and has exhibited in many prestigious galleries, often solo exhibitions. This includes the IdcN in Nagoya, the Seoul Calligraphy Art Museum, Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, National Museum Poznan in Poland, Pálffy Palace of the Bratislava City Gallery in Slovakia, Museum of Printing History in Houston Texas, and Galleria Maristara in Mexico. Nygaard is on permanent exhibit at the Danish Museum of Art and Design in Copenhagen, Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and The Merrill C. Berman Collection in New York among others. Franciszek Andrzej Bobola Biberstein-Starowieyski was a Polish artist. From 1949 to 1955, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków and Warsaw. He specialized in poster, drawing, painting, stage designing, and book illustration. He was a member of Alliance Graphique International (AGI). Throughout his career his style deviated from the socialist realism that was prevalent during the start of his career and the popular, brightly colored Cyrk posters; however he did create one Cyrk poster Homage to Picasso in 1966.
Henryk Tomaszewski was an award-winning poster artist and the "father" of the Polish Poster School.
April Greiman is an American designer widely recognized as one of the first designers to embrace computer technology as a design tool. Greiman is also credited, along with early collaborator Jayme Odgers, with helping to import the European New Wave design style to the US during the late 70s and early 80s." According to design historian Steven Heller, “April Greiman was a bridge between the modern and postmodern, the analog and the digital.” “She is a pivotal proponent of the ‘new typography’ and new wave that defined late twentieth-century graphic design.” Her art combines her Swiss design training with West Coast postmodernism.

George Tscherny was a Hungarian-born American graphic designer and educator. Tscherny received the highest honors among graphic designers. He was awarded the AIGA Medal in 1988, celebrated in the annual Masters Series in 1992 at the School of Visual Arts, and inducted into the Art Directors Club Hall of Fame in 1997. He worked in a number of areas ranging from U.S. postage to identity programs for large corporations and institutions.

Andrey Logvin is a Soviet and Russian poster artist, graphic artist, designer in the sphere of graphic design and advertising. Academician of graphic design and member of Alliance Graphique International (AGI).Owner of more than 30 awards of the International and Russian competitions of design and advertising. The winner of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of literature and art for 2000. He is presented in the directory "Who is who in Graphic Design". He is one of the 108 leading graphic designers in the book is "All Men are Brothers - Designer's Edition". In 2004 the Chinese Lignan Art Publishing House published the monograph "Andrey Logvin" on 165 pages. The poster "Life Is a Success" has become a calling card of the designer.

Gábor Palotai is a Swedish–Hungarian designer, artist, graphic designer and typographer. Since 1981 he lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden. Gábor Palotai was born 1956 in Budapest, Hungary, where he also studied and received his MA degree in graphic design at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest 1976–1980. After his graduation he left Budapest and moved to Stockholm, where he continued his studies at The Royal Institute of Art, 1981–1983 and Beckmans College of Design, 1983–1984. Gábor Palotai is a member of Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) since 2002. AGI unites the world's leading graphic designers. He is also a member of Svenska tecknare, Konstnärernas riksorganisation, and since 2015, the State Heraldic Board of the National Archives of Sweden. Gábor Palotai is an honorary professor at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest, and in 2021 he received the Knight's Cross Order of Merit of Hungary.
Aarhus Jazz Festival is an eight-day jazz festival in Aarhus, Denmark. It is held every year in July, August or September. The festival performs at the Aarhus Concert Hall, as well as many different venues across the city. Many concerts are played outdoors in the public space and are for free. Aarhus Jazz Festival has been awarded with the European Effe Label in 2017-2018. The 2018 festival was held from 14 to 21 July and the 2019 festival takes place from 13 to 20 July.
