Lorain County is a county in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 312,964. Its county seat is Elyria. The county was physically established in 1822, becoming judicially independent in 1824. Lorain County is part of the Cleveland-Elyria, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The county is home to Oberlin College.
Erie County is a county located in the northern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 75,622. Its county seat and largest city is Sandusky. The county is named for the Erie tribe, whose name was their word for "wildcat". It was formed in 1838 from the northern third of Huron County and a portion of Sandusky County.
Norwalk is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Huron County. The population was 17,012 at the 2010 census. The city is the center of the Norwalk Micropolitan Statistical Area and part of the Cleveland–Akron–Canton Combined Statistical Area. Norwalk is located approximately 10 miles (16 km) south of Lake Erie, 51 miles (82 km) west/southwest of Cleveland, 59 miles (95 km) southeast of Toledo, and 58 miles (93 km) west/northwest of Akron.

Clearview High School (CHS) is a public high school located in Lorain, Ohio, United States. It is part of the Clearview Local School District, one of five school districts serving the city of Lorain and all of Sheffield Township, Ohio. Clearview High School houses students in grades 9-12. It was formerly named Clearview Junior-Senior High School and housed students in grades 7-12. After a remodeling project across the district in the early 2000s, grades 7 and 8 moved to Durling Middle School, just northwest of the high school.
Crestview High School is a public high school in Weller Township, just west of Ashland, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Crestview Local School District. The high school enrolled 416 students as of the 2006-2007 academic year.

It is the only high school in the Mapleton Local School District and serves approximately 290 students in grades 9 to 12. Hillsdale High School is a public high school near Jeromesville, Ohio, United States. The building is located in Mohican Township in between the villages of Jeromesville and Hayesville. Athletic teams are known as the Falcons, and the school colors are Columbia Blue, Navy Blue and gold. The school opened in the fall of 1964.

Nelsonville-York City Schools serve York Township, Athens County in northern Athens County, including the City of Nelsonville and the Village of Buchtel. Western Reserve High School is a public high school in Collins, Ohio, part of Townsend Township, within Huron County. Consolidated in 1952 under the name of Townsend-Wakeman High School from two previous smaller high schools at Townsend in Townsend Township and Wakeman, in the village of Wakeman, Ohio before changing to its current name in 1959 when the new school building was built. It is the only high school in the Western Reserve Local School District, which includes the nearby village of Wakeman. Their nickname is the "Roughriders". They are members of the Firelands Conference in the Ohio High School Athletic Association, and wear the colors of blue and white.

The Firelands Conference is an Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) athletic league located in north-central Ohio. The league was formed in the 1960–61 school year and is named for the Firelands area of the old Western Reserve, where most of the member schools reside. High schools in this conference are located in Ashland, Huron, and Richland counties. Some of the schools' district boundaries extend into the neighboring counties of Crawford, Erie, and Lorain. Most of the founding schools came from the defunct Huron-Erie League.

The Lorain County League (LC8) is an Ohio high school athletic league that began with the 2019-20 school year and is made up of eight schools predominantly based in Lorain County, Ohio. All schools are members of the Ohio High School Athletic Association. Previous versions of a Lorain County League existed from 1924–61 and again from 1968-2005.
