Floral Jamming is a floral design activity originating from Hong Kong, where participants design their own original sculpture with floral materials. The floral designer provides all materials required for the floral display including flowers and foliage. Participants select the materials to create their own floral creation within a set time.

The mission of Floral Jamming is to promote floral art to the general public. Participants of Floral Jamming are usually beginners who have little to no experience in floral arrangement or floral design. A key feature of Floral Jamming is that the sessions must be conducted by a floral designer with professional certification.
Through Floral Jamming, these participants can assemble a final floral product under professional guidance without having taken any classes. During a Floral Jamming session, the floral designer only provides guidance upon participants’ request. Based on the individual participants’ design, the floral designer could make suggestions on how to refine the arrangement.
Floral Jamming is also educational. It can introduce concepts of nature and design to young participants. It is an activity that can enhance family bonding and interpersonal skills.
Many Floral Jammers have commented that the process of focusing on producing their own individual creation has helped them to de-stress.
The first Floral Jamming was held at Tallensia Floral Art, Hong Kong on July 1, 2011.
Floral Jamming was founded by Lowdi Kwan, a floral designer with certification from the American Institute of Floral Designers in 1996.
Psychological research has shown that the art of floral arrangement can help relieve mood swings, improve cognitive and perceptive functions and enhance social skills. [1] [2]
Bearing this in mind Kwan thought of the concept of Floral Jamming.
Prior to the session, materials including the necessary tools and accessories would be displayed. To start off a session a floral designer will give a brief introduction on the materials and on how to start a floral arrangement by introducing the fundamental principles of floral arrangement. The participants will then select flowers and other floral materials to construct their own floral arrangement. The floral designer will provide assistance and technical support throughout the session. It is important to note that the floral designer will only provide guidance/ suggestion upon request as a support and not to change the participants’ individual design.
Floral Jamming has been organized for functions such as birthday parties, bridal showers, school fairs, corporate team building and charity events.

Tournament of Roses Parade floats are flower-covered parade floats, used in the annual New Year's Day Tournament of Roses Parade held in Pasadena, California. They evolved from flower-decorated horse carriages with the present day requirement that "every inch of every float must be covered with flowers or other natural materials, such as leaves, seeds or bark". Three civic and floral industry leaders judge the floats and award prizes in 24 categories.

Jerry Kwan is a Hong Kong artist, Born in Xinhui, Guangdong in 1934, in southern China, Kwan moved to Hong Kong in 1949. He started painting during the 1960s and the 1970s. While Kwan did not work with just one single style in his artworks, his main focus was on oil paintings.

The rate of depression among senior citizens in Hong Kong has been increasing, so Serene Oasis aims to build up diversified therapeutic services to cope with the worsening mental health of people.
Banmi Shōfū-ryū (晩美生風流) is a school of Ikebana, an ancient Japanese art form that involves arranging flowers for spiritual purposes. Ikebana accompanied Buddhism's arrival in Japan in the 6th century and evolved from a Buddhist ritual. This ritual, which started in India, consisted of throwing “floral offerings” to the spirits of those who had passed. By the 10th century, containers were used for the floral offerings, slowly representing the development of Ikebana. Kado, which means “way of the flower,” is used in Ikebana practice and began to spread into more of an aesthetic than a spiritual representation during this time. By the 15th century, Ikebana embodied what it is known for today, an art form with a spiritual foundation. Ikebana is a way to connect with the flowers through active meditation, producing calmness and concentration for those who engage in this complex and expressional art. Ikebana has also been shown to have calming physiological effects on both creators and viewers of the art.
Hong Kong Cyclothon, sponsored by Sun Hung Kai Properties, was held from 10 to 11 October 2015. It was the first time that the Hong Kong Tourism Board organised a mega event related to bicycles. Different competitions within the cyclothon were held to allow participants of different age groups to join. Also, a carnival associated with bicycles was set up. The cyclothon attracted over 3,600 participants, including 100 cyclists coming from 17 countries. The Hong Kong Tourism Board hopes to organise the Hong Kong Cyclothon again.
