The extended play was released before either band received much mainstream attention, so there are very few professional reviews on the EP. Tori Pope of Punknews.org gave the extended play three-and-half stars out of five. Pope praised Fake Problems for the reinvention of their sound, stating "their two songs here represent yet another step in their constant evolution." Pope was more critical of You Blew It!'s half of the EP, claiming that their song Batavia, NY is "a drowsy slow-burning song that builds to a climax that never come". [1]
NOFX are an American punk rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1983. Bassist/lead vocalist Fat Mike, rhythm guitarist Eric Melvin and drummer Erik Sandin are original founding and longest-serving members of the band, who have appeared on every release of the band, although Sandin departed briefly in 1985, only to rejoin the following year. El Hefe joined the band in 1991 to play lead guitar and trumpet, rounding out the current line-up.
Choking Victim was an American punk band formed in New York City, which lasted from 1992 to 1998. They played a mix of hardcore punk and ska. Following the breakup of the band, which occurred the same day as the recording of their only studio album No Gods, No Managers, members went on to form Leftöver Crack and INDK, among others.
'Merican is an EP by the American punk rock band Descendents, released February 10, 2004. It was the band's first release for Fat Wreck Chords and served as a pre-release to their sixth studio album Cool to Be You, released the following month. The EP includes two songs from the album: "Nothing with You" and "'Merican", and three B-sides from the album's sessions: "Here with Me", "I Quit", and the hidden track "Alive". 'Merican marked the first release of new studio material from the Descendents since 1996's Everything Sucks and was their third release ever to chart, peaking at number 29 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart and at number 38 on Top Heatseekers.

Fake Problems were a four-piece indie rock band from Naples, Florida. They released their first full-length album, How Far Our Bodies Go, on Sabot Productions on April 27, 2007. Their second record, It's Great to Be Alive, was released through Side One Dummy Records on February 17, 2009. Their third record Real Ghosts Caught On Tape was released September 21, 2010, also on Sideonedummy. The band broke up in 2014.

This Is Only a Test is the sixth studio album by the Chicago-based pop punk band the Smoking Popes, released March 15, 2011 through Asian Man Records. It was produced by Matt Allison and is their first album with drummer Neil Hennessy, who joined the band in 2008. It is a concept album, with all of the songs written from the perspective of a single teenage boy dealing with the growing pains of adolescence. Singer, guitarist, and songwriter Josh Caterer described it as "kind of a concept album about a teenage life. All of the songs are written from the point of view of a high school student, and they explore aspects of teenage life. This would be [about] a contemporary teenager. It's not specifically autobiographical of my high school experience. Obviously, those things are incorporated into what I write, but I tried to create a character who is the protagonist in these songs."
Morning Glory is an American punk rock band from New York. It was formed originally as a solo project by Ezra Kire, after the band Choking Victim disbanded in 1999. This is the second band to use this name. The first one was a San Francisco rock band in the late 1960s who had one album, "Two Suns Worth" (1968) on Fontana Records. They played many concerts around the San Francisco bay area 1967-1970).
PJ Bond is an American singer and songwriter. He released a full-length solo album, You Didn't Know I Was Alphabetical, in 2009. He has also released a split album – Brother Bones / Baby Bones (2012) – with his brother, Brian, and two extended plays (EPs), April 22: Vienna, Austria and Ten Degrees and the Floor, both in 2011.
