Football Association of Poltava Oblast is a football governing body in the region of Poltava Oblast, Ukraine. The federation is a member of the Football Federation of Ukraine.
First official football body in Poltava region, then part of Kharkiv Oblast was Football League organized in 1920. Four teams were part of the league: Sokil, Alphard, Maccabi and Podil. First statutes were created and accepted. [1] In the fall of 1920 first official football tournament in Poltava region was held. In June 1924 in order to unite different football organizations of Poltava a football section was created at Provincial council of physical culture in Poltava. Its responsibilities included conducting the city championship, training of officials, supplying coaches for the teams and controlling the calendar. First Championship and Cup of Poltava Region were organized in 1938 and 1939. First Oblast of conference was organized in 1947 and idea of transforming the football section. Official date of creation of the football section was 13 and 14 March 1948. Danylo Matiushenko was elected as first chairman. In 1960 the football section was renamed football federation and it remained as part of the Poltava Oblast sports committee. On 2 February 1990 Football Federation of Poltava Oblast (FFPO) was created. [2] It was the first Ukrainian and second Soviet self-sufficient football federation. [3]
At the end of 2017, the Federation reorganized as Football Federation of Poltavshchyna (Ukrainian : Федерація футболу Полтавщини, ФФП, FFP) [4] by excluding its collective members that participate in professional football, i.e. FC Vorskla Poltava, FC Hirnyk-Sport Horishni Plavni, FC Poltava, FC Kremin Kremenchuk. [5] The new organization has replaced the former Football Federation of Poltava Oblast. [6]

During the Soviet period Poltava Oblast was represented only with 2 teams of masters from Poltava and Kremenchuk. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the region's geography of football club widened to Lubny, Horishni Planvi, Myrhorod, Karlivka.
Note: the list includes clubs that played at republican competitions before 1959 and the amateur or KFK competitions after 1964. [8] Until September of 1937 the Poltava's teams represented Kharkiv Oblast.
From 1948 to end of 2017 the Leadership position was known as the Head of Football Federation of Poltava Oblast. [9] From 25 December 2017, position was known as Head of the public union "Football Federation of Poltava Region" [10] which is now known as Head of the "Poltavshchyna Football Association" public union. [11]

Velyka Bahachka is a rural settlement in Poltava Oblast in Ukraine. It was formerly the administrative center of Velyka Bahachka Raion, but now administered within Myrhorod Raion. It is located on the Psel, a left tributary of the Dnieper. Population: 5,261 The first mentions of the settlement appeared at the end of the 16th - at the beginning of the 17th century. On Guillaume de Beauplan's map, created in the 17th century, it is marked as Bagachka. The settlement arose as a result of Cossack colonization.

Hryhorii Chychykov was a Soviet and Ukrainian football and futsal coach and former player who played as a defender. He spent most of his life playing and coaching in Kremenchuk.
The 1959–62 seasons were Dnipro Kremenchuk's yearly ears in existence. Club was formed in 1959 and in 1960 won Poltava Oblast Cup. Club was twice runner up in Poltava Oblast Championship, winning it in 1963. This allowed the club to participate in relegation play-off game for the 1963 Ukrainian Class B. Season 1963 Dnipro began as a new professional team formed from multiple city clubs.
The 2003–04 Football Championship of Poltava Oblast began on 17 August 2003 and ended on 18 June 2004. FC ZemliaK Myrhorod were the defending champions. Kremin Kremenchuk won their second League title.
The 2003–04 season was Kremin's 1st year in existence since clubs revival in 2003 and their first season in the Football Championship of Poltava Oblast, since the win in 1962 as Dnipro. Managed by Serhii Svystun, Kremin won the championship and the Poltava Oblast Cup. They also participated in the Ukrainian Amateur League where they finished bottom of their group. The season covers the period from 17 April 2023 to 1 July 2004.
