The 1998 Asian Games, officially known as the 13th Asian Games and the XIII Asiad, was an Asian multi-sport event celebrated in Bangkok, Thailand from December 6 to 20, 1998, with 377 events in 36 sports and disciplines participated by 6,554 athletes across the continent. The football event commenced on 30 November 1998, a week earlier than the opening ceremony.
Thammasat Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in the city of Rangsit, Pathum Thani, Thailand. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 25,000. It is on Thammasat University's Rangsit campus. It is located close to Bangkok.
True Bangkok United Football Club is a Thai professional football club based in Pathum Thani province. Formerly known as Bangkok University Football Club until 2009. The club was relegated from the 2010 Thai Premier League only 4 years after winning their first league title in 2006. The 2013 Thai FA Cup Final was the 20th final of Thailand's domestic football cup competition, the FA Cup. The final was played at Thammasat Stadium in Pathum Thani on 10 November 2013. The match was contested by Bangkok Glass, who beat Police United 5–2 in their semi-final, and Buriram United who beat Muangthong United 1–0 in the match. After Chatree Chimtalay opened the scoring in 17th minute, Osmar, Carmelo González and Kai Hirano equalised in the 32nd, 53rd and 60th minutes before the draw and Buriram United beat Bangkok Glass 3–1.

The 2020 AFC U-23 Championship was the fourth edition of the AFC U-23 Championship, the biennial international age-restricted men's football championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for under-23 national teams. A total of 16 teams competed in the tournament. It took place between 8–26 January 2020 in Thailand.

The 2023 AFC U-17 Asian Cup will be the 19th edition of the AFC U-17 Asian Cup, the biennial international youth football championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-17 national teams of Asia. This edition will be the first since 2006 to be played as an under-17 tournament, as the AFC proposed to switch the tournament from under-16 to under-17 starting from 2023. Moreover, the tournament was also rebranded from the "AFC U-16 Championship" to the "AFC U-17 Asian Cup".
