Maccabi Haifa F.C. Association football club in Israel

Maccabi Haifa Football Club is an Israeli professional football club, based in the city of Haifa, a section of Maccabi Haifa sports club. The club plays in the Israeli Premier League. Maccabi Haifa home games are played at Sammy Ofer Stadium. The stadium, which is shared with rivals Hapoel Haifa, is the second largest in Israeli football, with a capacity of 30,780.

The 2006–07 Israeli Premier League season began on 26 August 2006. It was scheduled to begin a week before, but was then postponed due to the 2006 Lebanon War. Beitar Jerusalem, under businessman Arcadi Gaydamak, became the league champions.

Sammy Ofer Stadium Football stadium in Haifa, Israel

Sammy Ofer Stadium, also known as Haifa Municipal Stadium, is a 30,780 seats multi-purpose stadium in Haifa, Israel. Construction began in late 2009 and was completed in 2014. The stadium was developed and built by the Haifa Economic Corporation, managed by Adv. Gal Peleg.

The men's association football tournament at the 2005 Maccabiah Games was held in Haifa and Herzliya in Israel from 10 July to 20 July.

The 2000 UEFA European Under-16 Championship was the 18th edition of UEFA's European Under-16 Football Championship. Israel hosted the championship, during 1–14 May 2000. 16 teams entered the competition, and Portugal defeated the Czech Republic in the final to win the competition for the fourth time.
