Fife is a council area, historic county, registration county and lieutenancy area of Scotland. It is situated between the Firth of Tay and the Firth of Forth, with inland boundaries with Perth and Kinross and Clackmannanshire. By custom it is widely held to have been one of the major Pictish kingdoms, known as Fib, and is still commonly known as the Kingdom of Fife within Scotland. A person from Fife is known as a Fifer. In older documents the county was very occasionally known by the anglicisation Fifeshire.
Newport-on-Tay is a town in the north-east of Fife in Scotland. The Fife Coastal Path passes through Newport-on-Tay. The area itself has views of the two bridges that cross the River Tay and distant views of the Scottish Highlands.
Kinghorn is a town and parish in Fife, Scotland. A seaside resort with two beaches, Kinghorn Beach and Pettycur Bay, plus a fishing port, it stands on the north shore of the Firth of Forth, opposite Edinburgh. According to the 2008 population estimate, the town has a population of 2,930.

Lindores is a small village in Fife, Scotland, in the parish of Abdie, about 2 miles south-east of Newburgh. It is situated on the north-east shore of Lindores Loch, a 44 ha freshwater loch. A possible derivation of the name Lindores is 'church by the water'. The ruins of Abdie church, about 0.5 miles south-west of the village are possibly the site of an ancient shrine connected to the Celtic foundation at Abernethy. After the foundation of Lindores Abbey in 1191 the church was given to the abbey.

Kilmany is a village and parish in Fife, Scotland. It is located on the A92 between Auchtermuchty and the Tay Road Bridge. In 2001 it had a population of 75.
The River Eden is a river in Fife in Scotland, and is one of Fife's two principal rivers, along with the Leven. It is nearly 30 miles (48 km) long and has a fall of around 300 feet (91 m).
Dairsie, or Osnaburgh, is a village and parish in north-east Fife, Scotland. It is 3 miles (4.8 km) south-southwest of Leuchars Junction, and 3 miles (4.8 km) east-northeast of Cupar on the A91 Stirling to St Andrews road. The village grew out of two smaller settlements, and developed principally around the industry of weaving. Since the late twentieth century it has become a dormitory settlement for nearby towns.
Kilconquhar is a village and parish in Fife in Scotland. It includes the small hamlet of Barnyards. It is bounded by the parishes of Elie, Ceres, Cameron, St Monans, Carnbee, Newburn and Largo. It is approximately 9 miles from north to south. Much of the land is agricultural or wooded. The village itself is situated inland, north of Kilconquhar Loch. Also in the civil parish are Colinsburgh and Largoward, the latter since 1860 being a separate ecclesiastical parish.

Dunbog is a parish in the county of Fife in Scotland which is now united with the neighbouring parish of Abdie, Dunbog kirk closing at that time. The name of the parish possibly derives from the Scottish Gaelic, Dùn Bolg, meaning "bag fort" or "bag-like, rounded hill" although no fortification has been identified on Dunbog Hill. The parish is of entirely rural character, with small hamlets of houses at Dunbog and Glenduckie. These were formerly the settlements of farm workers, but the current inhabitants have many occupations. Dunbog parish is bounded on the north by the River Tay, on the south by Monimail, on the east by Flisk and Creich, and on the west by Abdie. The Barony of Denboig/Dunbog was established in 1687. The nearest town of any size is Newburgh. It has a small primary school with approximately fifty children, and a village hall owned by a community trust which also owns the park and playing field next door.

Inland it is bounded by Markinch and its greatest breadth is 2+1⁄4 miles.
St. Fort railway station served the civil parish of Forgan, Fife, Scotland from 1878 to 1965 on the Tay Bridge Line and Newburgh and North Fife Railway.
St Fort is a rural area, largely in Forgan parish, Fife. The current form of the name is late eighteenth century, the origin being a sandy ford on the Motray Water, in all likelihood the ford earlier known as Adnectan or Nechtan's ford. St Fort Hill lies immediately to the south of Newport-on-Tay and William Burn’s St Fort House, a large baronial mansion, demolished in 1953, lay on its southern slopes. The Home Farm, to its west, survives.
