Francesca Pace (born 5 August 2005) is an Italian tennis player. [2] [3] She made her debut at a WTA 250 tournament when she played in the women's doubles at the 2022 Emilia-Romagna Open.
The daughter of former tennis professional Irina Spîrlea, Pace was brought up in Rome. [4] She has been coached from an early age by her father Massimiliano Pace. He also acted as coach for her mother during her tennis career. She has a brother named Tommaso. [5]
In May 2021, Pace won an ITF junior tournament in Limassol. [6] That year, she also claimed her first victories in women’s tennis, winning her debut match in a €15,000 event in Cairo, 6–1, 6–1 against Wan Chao-yi. [7] [8]
Pace played in the women's doubles at the 2022 Emilia-Romagna Open, a WTA 250 tournament, in September 2022. She played with Federica Urgesi, and they lost in the first round to compatriots Martina Trevisan and Jasmine Paolini. [9] [10]
Pace came through qualifying to play in the girls’ singles at the 2023 Australian Open. [11]

Paolini has won two singles and six doubles titles on the WTA Tour, including a WTA 1000 singles title at the 2024 Dubai Tennis Championships, two WTA 1000 doubles titles, and an Olympic gold medal in doubles, partnering Sara Errani. The 2021 Abu Dhabi Women's Tennis Open was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the inaugural professional edition of the tournament and a WTA 500 tournament on the 2021 WTA Tour. It took place at the Zayed Sports City International Tennis Centre in Abu Dhabi, from 6 January to 13 January 2021. Fourth-seeded Aryna Sabalenka won the singles title.

Paula Badosa defeated Victoria Azarenka in the final, 7–6(7–5), 2–6, 7–6(7–2) to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2021 Indian Wells Masters. At three hours and four minutes, it was the longest-ever Indian Wells women's final. Badosa became the first Spanish woman to win the title. This was her first WTA 1000 title and second career WTA Tour singles title. Azarenka was aiming to become the first woman to win the title three times.
Veronika Kudermetova and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova defeated the defending champion Giuliana Olmos and her partner Gabriela Dabrowski in the final, 1–6, 6–4, [10–7] to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2022 Italian Open.
The 2022 Jasmin Open was a WTA Tour tournament organised for female tennis players on outdoor hardcourts. The event took place at the Skanes Family Hotel in Monastir, Tunisia, from 3 through 9 October 2022.
Coco Gauff defeated Karolína Muchová in the final, 6–3, 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2023 Cincinnati Open. It was her first WTA 1000 title and the first WTA 1000 final appearances for both Gauff and Muchová. Gauff became the youngest champion in Cincinnati history. By reaching the final, Muchová debuted in the top ten of the WTA rankings.
Jasmine Paolini defeated Anna Kalinskaya in the final, 4–6, 7–5, 7–5 to win the women's singles title at the 2024 Dubai Tennis Championships. It was her first WTA 1000 title and second WTA Tour singles title overall. Paolini avenged her loss to Kalinskaya at the Australian Open, where both players had progressed to the second week of a major for the first time. Kalinskaya was the second qualifier to contest a WTA 1000 final, following Caroline Garcia at the 2022 Cincinnati Open.
