Francine Dauven (born 7 January 1949) is a Belgian former backstroke swimmer. She competed in two events at the 1968 Summer Olympics. [1]

Jean Dauven was a French bobsledder who competed in the 1930s. He finished ninth in the four-man event at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Dauven later became a sports journalist in the French newspaper Le Figaro. Despite he worked in a conservative newspaper, he argued for the progressive policy of the Front populaire and Léo Lagrange. He also was a writer about bobsleigh, writing a book Bolides des glace (bobsleigh) in 1944.

Burundi participated in the 2008 Summer Olympics, held in Beijing, China from 8 to 24 August 2008. It was Burundi's fourth appearance in the summer Olympics since its debut in 1996. The Burundi team included three athletes: runners Joachim Nshimirimana and Francine Niyonizigiye, as well as swimmer Elsie Uwamahoro. Niyonizigiye, a marathon runner, was flag bearer for the opening ceremony. None of the Burundi athletes progressed further than the qualifying round.

Alice Arden (athlete)

Alice Jean Arden-Hodge was an American athlete who competed in the women's high jump event at the Olympic games in Berlin in 1936. Raised in Long Island, New York, Arden won ten athletic letters during her high school career across several different sports. The only woman from the New York City area to have been selected for the 1936 Summer Olympics women's team, Arden placed ninth in the high jump event and never competed in the sport again. Soon after, she married basketball player Russell Hodge and together they had three children, one of whom was Russ Hodge, a decathlete at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. As of 2008, Arden and Hodge's participation make them the only mother-son Olympians in American history.

Francine Fox is an American sprint canoer who competed in the mid-1960s. She won a silver medal in the K-2 500 m event at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo with her K-2 partner Glorianne Perrier.

Frances Anne "Francie" Larrieu Smith is an American track and field athlete. She was the flagbearer at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona for the United States of America. Larrieu Smith was the third female American athlete to make five American Olympic teams, behind the six of fencer Jan York-Romary and Track and Field's Willye White. The feat was later equaled by basketball player Teresa Edwards, track and field's Gail Devers, cyclist/speedskater Chris Witty and swimmer Dara Torres. Her silver medal was the first Olympic medal for Burundi since 1996. Niyonsaba finished second in 800 meters 7 race series of 2016 Diamond League. She improved her personal best to 1:56.24 at 2016 Herculis meet.
