Francis Gorrin (born September 12, 1983 in Valencia, Carabobo) is a Venezuelan sport shooter. [1] She claimed the gold medal in the air pistol at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and was selected to compete for Venezuela at the 2004 Summer Olympics. [2] [3]

Gorrin first established herself on the world scene, as a 19-year-old, at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where she scored a total of 477.1 points to defeat Colombia's Amanda Mondol by a three-point gap for the gold medal in the air pistol. [3] [4] [5] With her historic victory, Gorrin grabbed one of the Olympic slots to ensure her place on the Venezuelan shooting team for the Games.

At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Gorrin qualified for the Venezuelan squad in pistol shooting, by having attained a mandatory Olympic standard of 379 and claiming the gold medal in air pistol from the Pan American Games. [3] [6] Gorrin started off her Olympic run poorly, as she rounded out the field of 41 shooters with a score of 358 points in the 10 m air pistol prelims. [7] [8] On her second event, 25 m pistol, Gorrin registered 271 points in three precision series and 263 in the rapid fire stage to accumulate an overall record of 534 points, but maintained her position from the previous event with the lowest score. Amanda Haydee Mondol Cuellar is a Colombian sport shooter. She earned a silver medal in the air pistol at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and was selected to compete for Colombia, as the oldest female athlete, at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Mondol is also a full-time member of Target Shooting Club in her native Bogotá, under her personal coach Luis Boduero.

Vladimir Nikolayevich Issachenko is a Kazakh sport shooter. He finished sixth in free pistol shooting at the 2004 Summer Olympics, and eventually won a bronze medal in the standard pistol at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. Having pursued the sport since the age of eleven, Issachenko trained as a member of the shooting team for Dynamo Sport Club in Almaty under his personal coach and two-time Olympic bronze medalist Vladimir Vokhmyanin.

Dionysios Georgakopoulos is a Greek sport shooter. He has been selected to compete for Greece in two editions of the Olympic Games, and has won a total of two medals, a gold and a silver, in pistol shooting at a major international competition, spanning the 2001 and 2003 ISSF World Cup series. Georgakopoulos is also a member of the shooting team at Ethnikos Gymnastikos Syllogos in his native Athens.

Christopher Rice is a sport shooter from the United States Virgin Islands. He has been selected to compete for the Virgin Islands as a lone pistol shooter in two editions of the Olympic Games, and has won a bronze medal in free pistol at the 2001 American Continental Championships in Fort Benning, Georgia, United States. Galina Vasilyevna Belyayeva is a Russian-Kazakhstani sport shooter. She has competed for Kazakhstan in pistol shooting at two Olympics, and has been close to an Olympic medal in 1996. Outside her Olympic career, Belyayeva has produced a career tally of six medals in a major competition: a bronze in air pistol at the 1994 World Championships in Milan, Italy and five more at numerous meets of the ISSF World Cup series.

Patricia Yanira Rivas Miranda is a Salvadoran sport shooter. She won a bronze medal in the small-bore rifle prone at the 2001 American Continental Championships in Fort Benning, Georgia, United States, and was selected to compete for El Salvador in air rifle shooting at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Rivas trains for the national shooting team under longtime coach Reynaido Flores.

Attila Solti is a Hungarian-Guatemalan sport shooter. Before his change of domicile to Guatemala, Solti had an extensive competitive career for his native Hungary in shooting. He won a total of twenty-nine medals in a major international competition, including two golds in both 10 and 50 m running target at World Championships and had set two world records in just a single season.
