Frank Hughes (born October 1, 1949) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey winger who played 392 games in the World Hockey Association and five games in the National Hockey League between 1971 and 1978. He was a member of the Houston Aeros, California Golden Seals, and Phoenix Roadrunners.

The Detroit Red Wings are a professional ice hockey team based in Detroit. The Red Wings compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference, and are one of the Original Six teams of the league. Founded in 1926, the team was known as the Detroit Cougars until 1930.
