Franz-Josef Rehrl (born 15 March 1993) is an Austrian nordic combined skier who competes internationally. [2]

Contents

He competed at the 2018 [3] and 2022 Winter Olympics.

His first podium in an World Cup race came on 30 November 2018, when he finished third at Lillehammer. His first win came in the same season, in Chaux-Neuve.

Nordic combined is a winter sport in which athletes compete in cross-country skiing and ski jumping. He won the gold medal in the 4 × 5 km team event and a bronze medal in the 15 km Gundersen race at the 2007 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo. After winning a Ski Jumping World Cup competition in Innsbruck on 4 January 2014, Koivuranta became the first ever athlete in history of ski jumping to win an event in both Nordic combined and the ski jumping World Cup.

Franz Heinzer is a former alpine ski racer, who specialized in downhill. He was World Cup champion in downhill three consecutive seasons, second only to Franz Klammer. He won a total of 15 World Cup downhill races, fourth behind Klammer (25), Peter Müller (19) and Stephan Eberharter (18). Together with Franz Klammer, Toni Sailer, Jean Claude Killy, Karl Schranz and Stephan Eberharter, he is considered among the best downhill racers of all time. The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 took place 22 February – 4 March 2007 in Sapporo, Japan. It was the second time this city has hosted these championships, having previously done so in the 1972 Winter Olympics. Sapporo was selected as venue by vote at the 43rd FIS World Congress in Portorož, Slovenia, on 6 June 2002. It also marked the third time the championships were hosted outside Europe in a year that did not coincide with the Winter Olympics; it was the first championship held in Asia. The ski jumping team normal hill event was not held, as it had been in 2005.

Franz Wende, also in Czech František Wende was an ethnic German Czechoslovak ski jumper and nordic combined skier who has competed in the 1920s. He won two bronze medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in ski jumping (1925) and Nordic combined (1927). He also competed in the individual event at the 1924 Winter Olympics.
