Originally from Sweden, he has worked for the United Nations, European Union, and Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe on the conflicts such as Kosovo, Georgia, Nagorno-Karabakh, and Sudan/South Sudan. He most recently worked as Deputy Head of Mission for the European Union Advisory Mission in Ukraine. [1]
Before that, he worked as Director of the Wider Europe Programme and Senior Policy Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations. [2] He has served as a team leader and political adviser to the EU counter-piracy mission, EUCAP Nestor. [3] He has also worked adviser to the EUSR for Sudan and South Sudan, Rosalind Marsden, on the peace negotiations between the two countries following the South's independence in 2011. [4] He has also worked as Political Adviser to the EUSR for the South Caucasus 2008–2010 [5] and as Special Adviser to the UN SRSG for Kosovo, Joachim Rücker, in the run-up to Kosovo's Declaration of Independence in 2008. Wesslau started his career as a journalist, writing mainly for the International Herald Tribune . [6]
In May 2013, his book - The Political Adviser's Handbook - was published. [7] The Handbook is a field manual for political advisers and political affairs officers working on conflict resolution and crisis management. It is being used in key international institutions such as the UN, NATO, OSCE, EEAS, and CPCC, as well as several foreign ministries and universities. [8]
Wesslau holds two master's degrees from Sciences Po Paris and the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, and an undergraduate degree in international relations from the London School of Economics. [9]
Nils Daniel Carl Bildt is a Swedish politician and diplomat who served as Prime Minister of Sweden from 1991 to 1994. He led the Moderate Party from 1986 to 1999, appearing at its lead candidate in four general elections, before his appointment as Minister for Foreign Affairs under Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt from 2006 to 2014. Bildt first entered the Riksdag in 1979, holding a seat until 2001. A member of the Bildt family, he is a great-great grandson of Baron Gillis Bildt, who was Prime Minister of Sweden from 1888 to 1889.

On 17 February 2008, the majority of members of the Assembly of Kosovo, including Hashim Thaçi, and Fatmir Sejdiu, not acting in the capacity of PISG, declared Kosovo an independent and sovereign state. The Common Security and Defence Policy Service Medal is an international military decoration awarded to individuals, both military and civilian, who have served with CSDP missions. Since the 1990s the European Union has taken a greater role in military missions both in Europe and abroad. These actions were taken under the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), which is implemented by the European Union Military Staff, a department of the EU. To recognize service in these missions the EU authorized the creation of a medal with a common obverse and reverse, to which clasps featuring the missions' name are attached to the ribbon bar.

He was also Moldova's Foreign Minister from 11 June to 14 November 2019 in the Sandu Cabinet. Until his appointment, he was the director of the Wider Europe programme of the European Council on Foreign Relations and visiting professor at Sciences Po-Paris.

She has been serving as European Union Special Representative (EUSR) for the Horn of Africa since 1 July 2021. Weber previously worked as a journalist, a human rights defender and most recently as the regional expert at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs. She is also a novelist.
