Fu-chang Chang (born April 25, 1965, in Taiwan) is an associate professor at the Graduate Institute of European Studies at Tamkang University in Taiwan. [1] [2]

Early life and education

Chang was born on April 25, 1965, in Taiwan and obtained his bachelor's degree at the German Department of Soochow University, Taiwan from 1984 to 1988. In 1991 he graduated with a Masters by the Graduate Institute of European Studies at Tamkang University, Taiwan and subsequently served in the army from 1991 to 1993. In 2006 he obtained his Dr. Rer. Pol. at the University of Cologne, Germany. [1]

Career

Chang started his career in academics in 1988, following his Bachelors at Soochow University in Taiwan. He became a scientific assistant to Chong-ko Tzou at Tamkang University in Taipei in 1988 and worked for Tzou until 1991. From 1993-1994 he worked at the Chengchi University in Taipei, where he assisted Mao-hsiung Hung.

Since 2006 Chang has been the Executive Secretary at the Center for European Union Studies and an assistant professor at the Graduate Institute of European Studies at Tamkang University. [3]

Additional affiliations

In 2008, Chang was awarded the Mercator Visiting Professorship for Political Management at the Universität Essen-Duisburg's NRW School of Governance. He gave both seminars and lectures at the university. [1] He was also a visiting Scholar at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, Germany, the Vice Secretary General of the Chinese Homeland Security Research Association, Taiwan and “Global Vision” TV Program Host in Taiwan.

She is also a board member of the China Su Shi Studies Society, and an international board member of the Korea Society of East Asian Comparative Literature. Dafydd J. Fell is a British political scientist who has written extensively on politics of Taiwan. He is a professor in comparative politics and the director of the Center of Taiwan Studies (CTS) at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Fell is the convenor of the MA Taiwan Studies programme of the SOAS. Under his direction, this school’s Taiwan-related courses, conferences and publications on Taiwan increased. He is the book series editor for the Routledge Research on Taiwan Seriesand an editor of International Journal of Taiwan Studies.

International Journal of Taiwan Studies (IJTS) is a hybrid open access biannual peer-reviewed academic journal in English hosting by the Centre of Taiwan Studies, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. This journal covers all aspects of Taiwan Studies, including social sciences, Taiwanese art, Taiwanese literature, culture of Taiwan, history of Taiwan and humanities, and interdisciplinary topics.It is published by Brill Publishers and cosponsored by Academia Sinica and the European Association of Taiwan Studies. Its Editor-in-Chief is Ming-Yeh Rawnsley. It is established in 2018 and abstracted and indexed by Scopus.
