Fucsia (Spanish : Fuchsia ) is a Colombian-based monthly magazine. It is the leading women's fashion magazine in Colombia. [1] The magazine was launched in 2004 and is the Colombian edition of an Ecuadorian magazine with the same name. [2] It is owned by the Publicaciones Semana S.A. [3] As of 2014 Lila Ochoa was the director of the magazine. [3]

Luis Carlos Galán Sarmiento was a Colombian liberal politician and journalist who ran for the Presidency of Colombia on two occasions, the first time for the political movement New Liberalism that he founded in 1979. The movement was an offspring of the mainstream Colombian Liberal Party, and with mediation of former Liberal president Julio César Turbay Ayala, Galán returned to the Liberal party in 1989 and sought the nomination for the 1990 presidential election, but was assassinated before the vote took place.

Founded with the name Cambio 16 it was later sold and Cambio in 1998 to nobel laureate Gabriel Garcia Marquez and other associates. In 2006 the magazine was sold to "Casa Editorial El Tiempo", the owner of Colombia's El Tiempo newspaper. The magazine ceased publication in February 2010.

The Anuario Colombiano de Historia Social y de la Cultura, founded in 1963 by Jaime Jaramillo Uribe, is the academic journal of the Department of History of the National University of Colombia. It is funded by the Faculty of Human Sciences at the university's headquarters in Bogotá. Although it mainly publishes research on Colombian history, it also accepts research on Latin American and world history, as well as historiography. It has been recognised as the main publication of Colombian historical studies. Authors are national and international scholars.

The El Aro massacre was a massacre in Colombia which occurred on October 22, 1997 in the municipality of Ituango, Department of Antioquia. 15 individuals accused of being leftist supporters of FARC were massacred by paramilitary groups. Perpetrators also raped women, burned down 43 houses, stole cattle and forcibly displaced 900 people.

The Jamundí Massacre was a massacre perpetrated by a Colombian National Army elite unit known as the High Mountain Battalion which was then commanded by Colonel Byron Carvajal against an elite Colombian National Police counter-narcotics unit on May 22, 2006 in the municipality of Jamundí, Department of Valle del Cauca.

Miss Grand Colombia 2022 was the second edition of the Miss Grand Colombia beauty pageant, held on June 24, 2022, at the Hotel Grand Park, Bogotá. At the end of the event, a twenty-eight-year-old Colombian American from Houston, Priscilla Londoño, was announced the winner, outclassing the other twenty contestants. She then represented Colombia at the parent international contest, Miss Grand International 2022, held on October 25 in Indonesia, where she was placed among the top 10 finalists. On the occasion of celebrating the pageant's first decade anniversary, Priscilla was also assumed by the international organizer to be one of the fifth runners-up, and she then spent a few months of her reign working with the organization in Indonesia and Thailand.
