G. R. Edmund (6 January 1931– 2 June 2013) was an Indian politician of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. He served as the Deputy Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 1969 to 1971. [1] [2] [3]

He joined Mr M.G. Ramachandran when he founded Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, in 1972. Mr Edmund served as a State Minister between 1977, and 1980 and held 6 portfolios, including: Food, Forest, and Fisheries departments. He also served as Special Representative of the Tamil Nadu Government at Delhi. He was also public prosecutor at Madras High Court.

N. Ganapathy was an Indian politician of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadufrom Papanasam Thanjavur District. He served as the Deputy Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 1973 to 1977. He was again a Member of the Legislative Assembly in 1989-1991 from Mylapore Constituency in Chennai City. Mr. Ganapathy was also a brilliant lawyer headed the law firm Pathy & Sundaram practising in the Madras High Court. Mr. Ganapathy worked with Mr. G. Ramaswamy former Attorney General of India.

Paul Hector Pandian was an Indian politician of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu from Tirunelveli district. He served as the Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 1985 to 1989. He served as Deputy Speaker and Speaker of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 21 June 1980 to 5 February 1989. He was one of the only two candidates elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislature from the V. N. Janaki Ramachandran Faction of AIADMK in 1989, when he won the Cheranmahadevi seat. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from Tirunelveli Parliamentary constituency in 1999. He was the organising secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam which was led by former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

V. P. Balasubramanian is an Indian politician of the Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. He served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu from 1980 to 1988 representing the Vedasandur Assembly constituency, and Deputy speaker of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 1985 to 1988.

The second legislative assembly election to the Madras state was held on 31 March 1957. This was the first election held after the linguistic reorganisation of Madras State in 1956. Indian National Congress and its leader, K. Kamaraj won the election and defeated their rival, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. In 1954, due to the resignation of C. Rajagopalachari, for his controversial Kula Kalvi Thittam, the leadership of Congress was contested between K. Kamaraj, and C. Subramaniam. Eventually, K. Kamaraj, won the support of the party, was elected leader and chief minister of Madras State in 1954. In a surprise move, he appointed both M. Bhaktavatsalam and C. Subramaniam, to his cabinet, allowing great unity amongst the Congress that ruled the state of Madras, for the next decade. This election saw future DMK leaders M. Karunanidhi and K. Anbazhagan win their first MLA seats in the legislative assembly.

Panruti S. Ramachandran is an Indian politician and former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu.

Kaveripattinam Poongavanam Munusamy is an Indian politician and deputy general secretary of AIADMK and incumbent member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from Krishnagiri Constituency. Munusamy completed his Bachelor of Arts from Govt. Arts College, Krishnagiri during 1971-1974 and later graduated Bachelor of Law from Government Law College, Chennai. He was a Minister for Municipal Administration and Rural Development in the Government of Tamil Nadu.

S. Gandhirajan is a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Vedansandur, Tamil Nadu during the 16th Tamil Nadu Assembly (2021-2026). He was elected to represent the constituency Vedasandur, then a constituency of Dindigul district, in the election of 1991. During his period as MLA, he also held the position as the chairman of the "Tamilnadu Water and drainage Board department" (1992–1993) and also as the deputy speaker of the legislative assembly from 1993 to 1996.

M. Ramkumar is an Indian politician and former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from papanasam constituency.
