GIVA Jewellery (stylized as GIVA.co) is an Indian direct-to-consumer (D2C) jewellery brand that offers a range of silver, gold, and lab-grown diamond jewellery. Founded in 2019, the company is headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
GIVA was established in 2019 to address the gap in India’s jewellery market, where traditional gold-focused brands dominated. The founders—Ishendra Agarwal (an engineer), Nikita Prasad (a NIFT graduate and jewellery designer), and Sachin Shetty (a former investment associate)—aimed to make affordable silver jewellery more accessible.
GIVA operates primarily through E-commerce, but has expanded into brick-and-mortar retail with over 200 stores across India as of 2024. [1] In 2024, GIVA expanded internationally by opening its first store in Sri Lanka. [2]
In 2021, GIVA appointed Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma as its brand ambassador. [3]
In January 2022, GIVA raised ₹83.5 crore in a Series A round led by Sixth Sense Ventures and A91 Partners. [4]
In July 2023, the company raised ₹200 crore in a Series B round led by Premji Invest, with participation from Aditya Birla Ventures, Alteria Capital, and A91 Partners. [5]
In October 2024, GIVA closed an extended Series B round, raising ₹255 crore. Premji Invest led the round, with participation from Epiq Capital and Edelweiss Discover Fund. [6]
In March 2025, the company raised ₹102 crore in a Series B2 round. This included ₹52 crore in equity from Alteria Capital and ₹50 crore in debt from Northern Arc Capital. [7]
The name "GIVA" is derived from the Sanskrit word Jīva (जीव), meaning life or soul. In Sanskrit, Jīva represents the essence of life and the journey of the soul. [8]
No Bindi No Business Backlash: In October 2023, GIVA faced criticism for an advertisement featuring Anushka Sharma, where the model appeared without a traditional bindi during a Hindu festival. The ad led to backlash on social media under the hashtag #NoBindiNoBusiness, with critics accusing the brand of disregarding cultural symbols. [9]
