Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, formerly known as North West Frontier Province (NWFP), is a province of Pakistan. Located in the northwestern region of the country, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the fourth largest province of Pakistan by land area and the third-largest province by population. It is bordered by the Pakistani provinces of Balochistan to the south, Punjab to the southeast, the territory of Gilgit-Baltistan to the north and northeast, the Islamabad Capital Territory to the east, and Azad Kashmir to the northeast. It shares a long international border with Afghanistan to the west. Due to it's location, it does not share a border with India. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has a varied geography of rugged mountain ranges, valleys, rolling foothills, and dense agricultural farms.

West Punjab was a province in the Dominion of Pakistan from 1947 to 1955. It was established from the western-half of British Punjab, following the independence of Pakistan. The province covered an area of 159,344 km sq, including much of the current Punjab province and the Islamabad Capital Territory, but excluding the former Princely state of Bahawalpur. Lahore, being the largest city and the cultural centre, served as the capital of the province. The province was composed of four divisions and was bordered by the state of Bahawalpur to the south-east, the province of Baluchistan to the south-west and Sind to the south, North-West Frontier Province to the north-west, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir to the north. It shared International border with Indian state of East Punjab to the east and Indian-administered Jammu & Kashmir to the north-east. It was dissolved and merged into West Pakistan upon creation of One Unit Scheme, in 1955.

Mufti Mehmood was a Pakistani statesman and Islamic scholar who was one of the founding members of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI); widely regarded as one of the greatest politicians in the history of Pakistan - known for his political acumen. He served as the first elected Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and later on as the Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly. He was among the principal architects of the 1973 Constitution of Pakistan.

Fazal-ur-Rehman is a Pakistani politician who is the president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F). He is also the president of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), a coalition of political parties which ousted then prime minister Imran Khan through a no-confidence motion in 2022. He has been a member of the National Assembly since February 2024 and previously served in that position between 1988 and 2018. He was also the Leader of the Opposition from 2004 to 2007. He is a supporter of the Taliban government in Afghanistan and has demanded for its international recognition. In the 1980s, he was part of the Movement for the Restoration of Democracy (MRD), which was formed to end the military regime of General Zia-ul-Haq.

Drazanda Tehsil is an administrative subdivision (tehsil) of Dera Ismail Khan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It borders South Waziristan to the north, Dera Ghazi Khan and Musa Khel to the south and Zhob to the west. The capital is the town of Drazanda.

The Akakhel, pronounced Akaa Khel or Akakhail, are a Pashtun sub-tribe of the Ghilji/Ghilzais confederation. Their mother language is Pashto. In the early 20th century, the tribe was generally pastoral. The Akakhel are one of the largest Ghilji Pashtun subtribes. A reasonable majority of those who were living on the Durand Line migrated since 1800s into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Punjab provinces of Pakistan to Sikander Abad Charsadda,Peshawar,Swat(Barikot), Buner(Topdara), Abbottabad, Nowshera, Mardan, Attock, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Gojra, Faisalabad, Lahore, Multan, Hyderabad, Karachi and Quetta. The exact population number of this clan is not known; however, it is estimated to be around 2 million all around the world The population of this tribe primarily lives in Pakistan and Afghanistan. 85% live in Pakistan and about 1% or 2% live in Afghanistan and remaining 13% lives in England, Germany, United Arab Emirates, China, Malaysia, Canada and United States of America.

Chukhain Zaam is a village in the Sulaiman Mountains in Dera Ghazi Khan District of Punjab, Pakistan. It lies just 2 Km east of the Balochistan border and 5km south of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border, west of the Indus Highway, roughly midway between Dera Ghazi Khan and Dera Ismail Khan. The majority of the residents are from the Qaisrani tribe, which is associated with the Baloch Tribal Area of Dera Ghazi Khan District.

The University of Agriculture (UAD), Dera Ismail Khan is a newly established University, charted by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Assembly in March 2018 and recognized by Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan on May 5, 2021. It was originally a faculty of Agriculture in Gomal University Dera Ismail Khan. The University of Agriculture DI Khan started its academic activities for the Fall-2021. The University of Agriculture is located at the Sadiq Awan Memorial Complex, Near Baahoo Flour Mill, Bhakkar Road, Dera Ismail Khan. Currently, UAD is offering different undergraduate and diploma programs. Keeping in view the purpose of its research orientation, University has started work to develop various research organizations i.e. Date Palm Research Institute Dhakki DIKhan, Temperate Research Institute Wana, Sugarcane Research Institute DIKhan.
