Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni (born 13 August 1950) is an Italian author,educator and politician,currently serving as the Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe (since 2012). She previously held the post of Director General of Programs and was the first female Director General in the history of the Council of Europe. [1]
Battaini-Dragoni was born in Brescia,Italy. She holds a degree in foreign languages and literature from the University of Venice and a diploma from the University of Nice. She was a departmental assistant in the department of Economic geography at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice.
From 1976 until 2012,Battaini-Dragoni held a number of roles at the Council of Europe,including Educational Advisor;Administrator;Head of Service;Director;Coordinator for Intercultural Dialogue;Director General of Education,Culture and Heritage,Youth and Sport;and Director General of Programs. [2]
In addition to her work with the Council of Europe,Battaini-Dragoni has been published in a variety of publications,including The European Law Students' Association,Europa Nostra,and the European Journal of Migration and Law. She has written on subjects including intercultural dialogue,equity,migration,and human rights.
In 2012,Battaini-Dragoni was elected to the position of Deputy Secretary General by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. She was re-elected to the post in 2015. [3] As Deputy Secretary General,she oversees the implementation of policy reforms,shapes programming and budget,and oversees the Council of Europe's employment policies. She also serves as a member of the International Partnership Against Corruption in Sport for the Olympic Games and International Olympic Committee. [4]
Battaini-Dragoni is married and has three children. [5]

The King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue,also referred to as "International Dialogue Centre" and globally known by its abbreviation,KAICIID,is an inter-governmental organization that promotes inter-religious and intercultural dialogue to prevent and resolve conflict. It was established in Vienna,Austria,but relocated to Lisbon,Portugal on 1 July 2022. KAICIID was opened in 2012 by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,the Republic of Austria and the Kingdom of Spain,following the initiative of Pope Benedict XVI and King Abdullah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who met in 2007 to discuss the founding of a new interfaith activity. The CSIT –International Workers and Amateurs in Sports Confederation is an international multi-sports organization. It was established as the successor to Socialist Workers' Sport International and as such celebrated its centenary in 2013. The core principles of contributing to physical activity and sports have stayed in its action policy:it is a right of men and women to do sports no matter what are their professionalism levels. The key concept of the CSIT's sport policy has always been "Sports for all". The policy stems from the historic ideas of the international worker sport movement.

Lucija Čok is a Slovene linguist,senior researcher in the field of multilingualism and a professor of multilingualism and intercultural communication. Throughout her career,she has held several important positions,including that of the Minister of Education,Science and Sport (2000-2002) of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia. In her role as the Minister,she contributed to the establishment of higher education institutions in the Slovene region of Primorska and in 2003 she was elected as the first rector of the newly established university. She participated in European Commission high expert panels that have shaped linguistic policies and strategies of higher education and research. She has facilitated the preparation of the formal basis for Slovenia’s integration into the European Research Area. She was an expert of the Institutional evaluation program board and member of the Council of the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. Her research work and publications focus on the formation of models of bilingual education in areas of linguistic and cultural contact,sociolinguistic and didactics of intercultural communication. In 2013,the University of Primorska named her professor emeritus. The same year,she received a lifetime achievement award for her work in the field of Higher Education by the Ministry of Education,Science and Sport.
