With a 2020 census population of 905,748, it is the 14th-most populous city in the U.S., the second-most populous city in the Midwest after Chicago, and the third-most populous U.S. state capital. Columbus is the county seat of Franklin County; it also extends into Delaware and Fairfield counties. It is the core city of the Columbus metropolitan area, which encompasses 10 counties in central Ohio. It had a population of 2,138,926 in 2020, making it the largest metropolitan entirely in Ohio and 32nd-largest city in the U.S.

Columbus Academy (CA) is a selective, independent college-preparatory school for students from pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade. The school is located on a large, secluded campus surrounded by wooded areas in Gahanna, Ohio in the United States, 8 miles from downtown Columbus. The Academy was founded in 1911 by J. L. Hamill in Bexley, Ohio and moved to its current campus in 1968. Originally an all-boys school, it became coeducational in 1991 when the Board of Trustees decided to admit girls. From its conception, the school expanded over time to a matriculation level of 1,000 students. Columbus Academy students and alumni often refer to the school as "Academy."

Interstate 270 (I-270) is an auxiliary interstate highway that forms a beltway loop freeway in the Columbus metropolitan area in the US state of Ohio, commonly known locally as The Outerbelt or the Jack Nicklaus Freeway. The zero-milepost is at the junction with I-71 east of Grove City. I-270, along with I-670, provides access to John Glenn Columbus International Airport. The entire length of I-270 is 54.97 miles (88.47 km). It is one of four Interstate loops not to run concurrently with another Interstate freeway, the others being I-295 in Florida, I-485 in North Carolina, and I-610 in Texas.
The Olentangy Local School District is a large, rapidly growing school district centered in southern Delaware County, with a small, southern portion in Franklin County in the U.S. state of Ohio. The Olentangy Local School District comprises 95 square miles (250 km2) and serves students from all or parts of numerous municipalities, including the unincorporated community of Lewis Center and the cities of Columbus, Delaware, Powell, and Westerville. The district also serves students from Berkshire, Berlin, Concord, Genoa, Liberty, and Orange townships in Delaware and Franklin counties. As of 2020, it operates 15 elementary schools, five middle schools, and four high schools. Richard Adams Cordray is an American lawyer and politician serving as the COO of Federal Student Aid in the United States Department of Education. He served as the first director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) from 2012 to 2017. Before that, Cordray variously served as Ohio's attorney general, solicitor general, and treasurer. He was the Democratic nominee for governor of Ohio in 2018.

Walnut Hill International Leadership Academy (WHILA), formerly Walnut Hill Elementary School, is a public K-8 school in Dallas, Texas, and a part of the Dallas Independent School District (DISD). The school's previous campus was located near Walnut Hill Lane. The school has been in operation since 1912, though the building used until 2019 was constructed in 1946. Walnut Hill serves a portion of the Preston Hollow area, including parts of the "Old Preston Hollow" estate community.

The school opened in 2008, but the Columbus City Schools ESL program from which it was formed was founded in 1999. Its purpose is to educate immigrant students e.g. students who are new to the U.S.
The Ohio Center for Law-Related Education (OCLRE) is a non-profit organization that aims to engage Ohio students "in learning about government, law, and the importance of active citizenship." The organization is headquartered out of the Ohio State Bar Association in Columbus, Ohio. It was founded in 1983 and reported a staff of six employees in 2019.
Pickerington Local School District, formerly Violet Township Schools (1905–1939), is a public school district in Ohio. It serves most of the city of Pickerington, Ohio, as well as part of the city of Columbus, Reynoldsburg, Canal Winchester and unincorporated parts of Fairfield and Franklin Counties. In the 1980s and 90s it was the fastest growing school district in Ohio over a five-year period. It is highly rated by Niche. In 2004 the district was rated excellent by the state of Ohio. It is the taxing authority for the Pickerington Public Library as well as for the school district.
