Groveport is a city in Franklin County, Ohio, United States. It is a suburb of Columbus. The population was 6,009 at the 2020 census.
Fredrick Smoot is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback for nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, and was recognized as an All-American. The Washington Redskins chose him in the second round of the 2001 NFL draft, and he played for the Minnesota Vikings as well.
Jeffrey Alan Hartings is an American former professional football player who was a center for 11 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions, earning All-American honors. A first-round pick of the Detroit Lions in the 1996 NFL draft, he played professionally for the Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a member of the Steelers' Super Bowl championship team in 2005, beating the Seattle Seahawks, and he was a two-time Pro Bowl selection. He is currently the head football coach at Worthington Christian High School.
James LeRoy Bakken is an American former professional football player who was a kicker in the National Football League (NFL) for the St. Louis Cardinals, playing occasionally as a punter as well. He was a four-time Pro Bowl selection and was named to the NFL 1960s and 1970s All-Decade Team. Bakken is one of 29 individuals to be named to two All-Decade teams.

He was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 1991 NFL draft. Standing 6'2" and 206 lbs from Kettering, Archbishop Alter High School and Ohio State University, Graham played in 11 NFL seasons from 1991 to 2001 for the Steelers, the Chicago Bears, the New York Jets, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the San Diego Chargers.

During the 1997–1998 season, Burke led all college football with 22 sacks and 31 total tackles for loss while helping Wisconsin to a Rose Bowl victory and #5 overall ranking. He was chosen in the third round of the 1999 NFL draft by the Cardinals and played all four years of his NFL career with Arizona.

He graduated from Groveport Madison High School before attending Ohio State University where he played as a guard for their football team. Prior to his time at Ohio State, Ruzich served in the United States Army during World War II.
The 1961 Wisconsin Badgers football team was an American football team that represented the University of Wisconsin in the 1961 Big Ten Conference football season. In their sixth year under head coach Milt Bruhn, the Badgers compiled a 6–3 record, finished fifth in the Big Ten, and outscored opponents by a total of 179 to 158. They were ranked No. 18 in the final UPI coaches poll.
