The Gandhi Memorial College Srinagar, is a University Grants Commission co-educational college located on 1.75 (14 kanal) acre campus in Shamswari, Fateh Kadal, Srinagar in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. [1] The college was established in the year 1942. It is a grant-in-aid college and is run by Hindu Education Society of Kashmir. [2] The college gets grant-in-aid from Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir. [3] It is affiliated with the University of Kashmir.
Gandhi Memorial College is located in Shamswari, Fateh Kadal locality of Srinagar. It is situated on the bank of river Jehlum near the Mangleshwar Temple. The college is about two kilometres (1.2 mi) from Srinagar city centre Lal Chowk. [4]
The college was established by eminent philanthropic personalities of Kashmiri Pandit Community, Hindu Society of Kashmir in 1943, during the regime of Maharaja Hari Singh, to cater to the educational needs of the society. [2]
Gandhi Memorial College has won sixth Inter College Prof. Yousuf Memorial Cricket Championship, Inter College Football Championship (boys), Inter College Judo Championship (boys) .
Tyndale Biscoe School is a school in the Sheikh Bagh neighbourhood, in the Lal Chowk area of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. The school was founded in 1880 CE and is one of the oldest schools in Jammu and Kashmir, the oldest being S.P school which was founded in 1874 CE. The school was started by Christian missionaries and was named after Canon Cecil Tyndale-Biscoe (1863–1949). It still has affiliations with the Church Mission Society. The first principal was Reverend J.H.Knowles.

Downtown, popularly known as Shahar-e-Khaas, is the largest and the most densely populated area of the city of Srinagar in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ), is a collegiate public state university, located in Jammu in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Mohammad Saleem Beg is an Indian art conservator, historian and columnist. He is working to conserve / preserve the artworks, architecture, archaeology, besides museum collections mainly connected to Kashmir heritage. He prepared the research dossier of seven crafts include papier-mache, pashmina, Khatamband, Woodwork, Pinjrakari (latticework), Ari and Metal craft which placed the Srinagar city of Jammu and Kashmir in the list of UNESCO creative cities network for 2021, in the field of craft and folk art.
