Although women have participated in boxing for almost as long as the sport has existed, female fights have been effectively outlawed for most of boxing's history until recently, with athletic commissioners refusing to sanction or issue licenses to women boxers, and most nations officially banning the sport. Reports of women entering the ring go back to the 18th century.

Stephen Francis Smith is a British former professional boxer who competed from 2008 to 2019. He challenged twice for a super-featherweight world championship; the IBF and WBA titles, both in 2016. At regional level he held multiple championships, including the British and Commonwealth featherweight titles and the British super-featherweight title between 2010 and 2013.
Neil Haddock is a Welsh former lightweight and super featherweight boxer. Before turning professional he won a silver medal as a lightweight at the 1986 Commonwealth Games. His early career as a professional lightweight was not very notable, but after a year out from boxing caused by an eye injury, he returned fitter and lighter as a super featherweight. In 1992 he became the Welsh super featherweight champion, taking the British title just five months later. He retired from boxing in 1994.
Andrew Selby is a Welsh professional boxer who held the British flyweight title from 2016 to 2019. As an amateur, he won a silver medal at the 2011 World Championships, Bronze at the 2013 World Championships, and gold at the 2011 and 2013 European Championships, all in the flyweight division. He is the younger brother of former featherweight world champion Lee Selby.
Freddie William Evans is a British professional boxer fighting in the 69 kg welterweight category. As an amateur, he won gold at the 2007 World Cadet Championships in Hungary and won gold for Wales at the 2011 European Amateur Boxing Championships in Ankara. He was the first Welsh boxer to achieve the feat in 86 years.

Ashley Williams is a Welsh professional boxer, fighting in the 49 kg Light flyweight category. He represented Wales at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Andrew Moloney is an Australian professional boxer who held the WBA (Regular) super-flyweight title in 2020, having previously held the interim title since 2019. At regional level he held the WBA Oceania bantamweight title from 2016 to 2017 and the Commonwealth super-flyweight title in 2017. As an amateur, he won a gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in the flyweight division. As of June 2020, he is ranked as the world’s seventh best active super-flyweight by The Ring magazine, eighth by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board and ninth by BoxRec.
Joe Cordina is a Welsh-Maltese professional boxer. He is a two-time super-featherweight world champion, having held the International Boxing Federation (IBF) title from April 2023 until May 2024 and previously in 2022.
Lauren Louise Price is a Welsh professional boxer, former amateur boxer and former kickboxer and footballer. She has held the WBA, IBO, and Ring female welterweight World titles since 11 May 2024. She was the first-ever female British professional boxing champion having won the welterweight title on 6 May 2023 and holding it until vacating the belt when she became World champion. While representing Wales in the amateur sport she won a bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, becoming the first Welsh woman to win a Commonwealth Games boxing medal. Four years later she surpassed this achievement by winning gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, followed by a gold at the 2019 World Championships. While representing Great Britain, she won gold medals at the 2019 European Games and 2020 Summer Olympics.
Pat McCormack is an English professional boxer. As an amateur he won a silver medal at the delayed 2020 Summer Olympics and gold at both the 2018 Commonwealth Games and 2019 European Games.
Jermaine Robert Asare is a Welsh professional boxer. He represented Great Britain at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, winning a bronze medal. He turned professional in 2013 and unsuccessfully challenged for the Welsh light-heavyweight title in 2017, suffering a defeat to Nathan Thorley.

Amit Panghal is the reigning Asian Games champion and a world championships silver-medalist Asian Elite Boxing Championships Panghal failed to defend his gold medal, that he won in 2019, against reigning Olympic and world champion Shakhobidin Zoirov of Uzbekistan to finish second-best in Dubai.
Rosie Eccles is a Welsh amateur boxer who won a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games as well as a host of other medals at international competitions representing both Wales and Great Britain.
Benjamin G. Whittaker is an English professional boxer who has held the IBF International light-heavyweight title since June 2024. As an amateur, he won a silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Taylor Bevan is a Welsh boxer. He competed at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in the boxing competition, winning the silver medal in the men's light heavyweight event. His father Lester Bevan is a Boxing Coach. His mother is Katie Holmes, from whom he qualifies for Welsh Nationality. He is also the brother of Owen Bevan who is a footballer in the AFC Bournemouth Development Squad. Having failed to qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics, Bevan announced he had quit the GB Boxing set-up after two-and-a-half years on 2 August 2024.
