Gareth Jones (conductor)

Gareth Jones (born 1960) is a Welsh orchestral and choral conductor. [1]

He was born in South Wales and attended Glan Afan Comprehensive School, where he excelled at the piano. In 1990, he joined the Music Staff at Welsh National Opera, for which he has conducted a number of operas, making his WNO debut in 2004.

In the United Kingdom he has appeared with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the English Chamber Orchestra.

In 1996, Jones formed Sinfonia Cymru, and remains its principal conductor. [2]

Jones also teaches prospective conductors and his teaching includes that of operatic conducting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Paul Mealor Welsh composer (b1975)

Paul Mealor OStJ CLJ OSS FRSA is a Welsh composer. He is considered one of the world's most performed living composers. A large proportion of his output is for chorus, both a cappella and accompanied. He came to wider notice when his motet Ubi Caritas et Amor was performed at the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton in 2011. He later composed the song "Wherever You Are", which became the 2011 Christmas number one in the UK Singles Chart. He has also composed an opera, three symphonies, concerti and chamber music.

James Lowe is an orchestra conductor and current Music Director of the Spokane Symphony in Spokane, WA beginning in the 2019-2020 season. He assumed his role of Chief Conductor of the Prussian Chamber Orchestra for the 2015/16 season. His work as Artistic Director of the Hallé Harmony Youth Orchestra was featured in a four-part documentary shown in the UK on Channel 4 in 2010. A recipient of the Bernard Haitink Fund for Young Talent, Lowe is Principal Conductor of the Edinburgh Contemporary Music Ensemble, Principal Guest Conductor of Music for Everyone, Orchestras Advisor and conductor of the Senior Orchestra of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland and held the position of Associate Conductor of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Tecwyn Evans New Zealand conductor and composer

Tecwyn Evans is a New Zealand conductor. He holds a faculty position teaching conducting at the University of Auckland School of Music and in 2018 he was named as Director of Music of Den Jyske Opera.
