Chirip is a volcano located in the central part of Iturup Island, Kuril Islands, Russia. In lies on the Chirip Peninsula and comprises two twin stratovolcanoes, Chirip and Bogdan Hmelnitskiy. The western side is the steepest, sharing a basin, with a small lake with Bogdan Hmelnitskiy. Basin has features that were created during an eruption. Many types of lava found are basalt, and andesite, small amounts of dacite found.

Nez Perce Peak is located in the Teton Range, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, immediately southeast of Grand Teton. The peak is in the central portions of the range, immediately east of Cloudveil Dome and is sometimes considered to be part of what is collectively known as the Cathedral Group. Nez Perce rises to the south of Garnet Canyon and is a dramatic peak that dominates the skyline to the west of Bradley and Taggart Lakes. When viewed from the western section of Jackson Hole, Nez Perce often obscures the view of Cloudveil Dome as well as South Teton, even though both summits are higher.

The 2,162-metre-tall (7,093 ft) mountain is located in the Jotunheimen mountains within Jotunheimen National Park. The mountain sits about 34 kilometres (21 mi) southwest of the village of Fossbergom and about 37 kilometres (23 mi) northeast of the village of Øvre Årdal. The 2,267-metre (7,438 ft) tall mountain is located in the Jotunheimen mountains within Jotunheimen National Park. The mountain sits about 30 kilometres (19 mi) south of the village of Fossbergom and about 45 kilometres (28 mi) southwest of the village of Vågåmo. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Styggehøbretindan and Styggehøi to the east; Blåbreahøe to the southeast; Memurutindene to the southwest; Veobreahesten, Veobretinden, and Leirhøi to the northwest; and Veopallan to the north.

Hardscrabble Mountain is a summit located in Custer County, Colorado with an elevation of 3,171 metres (10,404 ft). It is one of the peaks in Wet Mountains, a sub-range of the Sangre de Cristo Range of the Rocky Mountains. A local legend is that the mountain was named after an event from Christmas Day 1855. Ute Native Americans attacked settlers in Pueblo, after which soldiers pursued the Utes. They ran up the creek and had a “hard scrabble” to avoid being captured.
