Garnet Crow released their debut album, First Soundscope: Mizu no Nai Hareta Umi e in 2001 in Japan, where it reached number six. Garnet Crow was a Japanese pop/rock band formed in 1999 and associated with the Giza Studio record label. Members include Yuri Nakamura, Hitoshi Okamoto, Nana Azuki, and Hirohito Furui, with Nakamura leading on vocals. Music produced by Garnet Crow has its roots in the neo acoustic genre, and representative works include "Flying", "Yume Mita Ato De", and "Spiral". Despite prolific early singles, the band neither performed live nor appeared on TV prior to 2002.
Toshinobu "Toshi" Kubota is a Japanese singer, songwriter, musician, music producer, and radio personality. He has produced six million-seller records and thirty-three Top 40 singles during his career. Kubota is currently part of Sony Music Japan. In addition, he has composed and written songs for many singers including Hiromi Iwasaki, Misia, Toshinori Yonekura, Kyōko Koizumi, and many other recording artists.
"Mysterious Eyes" is one of Garnet Crow's two debut singles that was released on March 29, 2000. The two release marks the signing of band with the Giza Studio record label. The other single that was a part of this release was "Kimi no uchi ni tsuku made zutto hashitte yuku". "Mysterious Eyes" was used as the seventh opening theme for Case Closed in Japan and had a direct impact on helping it score in the 20th position on the Oricon chart. The song has some alternate versions too, those being "Mysterious Eyes ~dry flavor of G mix~" from the album "SPARKLE ~Sujigakidoori no Skyblue~", and, more recently, guitarist Okamoto Hitoshi created a version called "Mysterious Eyes ~Reason P.~", available for download using a QR code card included in his album "Now Printing...". The single reached #20 rank for first week. It charted for 11 weeks.
Hitoshi Okamoto is a Japanese guitarist, composer, arranger and the former member of the J-pop band Garnet Crow in years 1999-2013, as well as some of his own solo releases.
"Over Drive" is a song performed by the Japanese band Garnet Crow for the original soundtrack to the 2010 anime film Detective Conan: The Lost Ship in the Sky. The song was produced by Hirohito Furui and written by Azuki Nana and Yuri Nakamura. It was released on April 14, 2010 as the lead single from the soundtrack album. "Over Drive" will also appear as one track on Garnet Crow's eighth studio album, Parallel Universe.
"Hana wa Saite Tada Yurete" is the 30th single by the Japanese band Garnet Crow. It was released on August 19, 2009. The song's melody was created by singer, Nakamura Yuri, with the lyrics written by keyboard player, Azuki Nana. The song is about the lives of flowers, seen from a darker perspective.
