Gavin Vlijter (born 12 February 1997) is a Surinamese football player who plays as a winger for Tweede Divisie club De Treffers, and the Suriname national football team. [1]

Club career

He made his professional debut in the Eerste Divisie for Fortuna Sittard on 13 March 2015 in a game against Sparta Rotterdam. [2]

On 4 June 2020, he moved to De Treffers. [3]

International career

On 15 October 2019, Vlijter made his international debut for Suriname in the CONCACAF Nations League. He played the full 90 minutes in a 1–0 loss to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. [4]

On 16 November 2019, Vlijter scored his first international goals in a 4–0 victory over Dominica. [5]

The final round of qualification was a one-game playoff on 2 March 2009, between the runner-up from the Caribbean zone, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and the 3rd-place finisher from the Central American zone, Honduras. The three North American zone nations, Canada, Mexico, and the United States, as well as tournament hosts Trinidad and Tobago, were automatically entered into the final tournament without need for qualification.
