Gayatri Prasad Prajapati was an Indian politician. He was convicted of rape, criminal conspiracy, and criminal intimidation. In 2021 he was sentenced to 5yr jail by Allahabad High court. He was a former cabinet minister in the government of Uttar Pradesh and served as Minister of Transport. He also served as a mining minister.

Early life

Prajapati was born in a poor Kumhar family from Amethi. He established Gayadai College there.

Allegations

On a complaint filed by activist and advocate Nutan Thakur, Prajapati was under the Lokayukta scanner for corruption in illegal mining. [1] Later Nutan Thakur's husband ex IPS officer and Present, Adhikar Sena alleged that ex Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav threatened him for his wife's Lokayukta case against Prajapati. [2] Nutan Thakur also registered a criminal case against Prajapati for framing her and her husband in a false rape case, which is presently under trial before a Lucknow Court. [3] On 17 February 2017, the Supreme Court of India directed Uttar Pradesh police to lodge a complaint in connection with a rape case.

He was arrested in Lucknow on March 15, 2017 after an escape on February 27, 2017. [4]

In 2016 Allahabad High Court charged him with allowing illegal mining in his capacity of mining minister in Shamli, Hamirpur, Fatehpur, Siddharthnagar, Deoria, Kaushambi and Saharanpur - in violation of rules and ban by the National Green Tribunal. [5] [6] [7] [8]

Rape

A woman from Chitrakoot, alleged that Prajapati had raped her three years previously. Prajapati reportedly took photos and continued to rape her for two years by threatening to leak the photos. He also falsely promised to give her an important position in Party. [9]

The victim later filed a complaint. However, the U.P. Police refused to file an FIR. The woman then approached Supreme Court, which directed the police to lodge a report. In February, 2017 he absconded, but was later arrested in Lucknow. [10]

On 12 Nov. 2021, he was sentenced to life by MP MLA court Lucknow.

Amarmani Tripathi is a politician from Eastern Uttar Pradesh. He has been a MLA from Nautanwa, Uttar Pradesh four times. He had earlier been a state Minister in the state of Uttar Pradesh with the Samajwadi Party under Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Satyendar Kumar Jain is an Indian politician who is member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and a former Cabinet Minister in the Government of Delhi led by Arvind Kejriwal. Jain is an architect by profession. He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in May 2022 on allegations of money laundering, 9 months after which he submitted his resignation for the portfolios he held as a minister. On 27 May 2014, a gang rape and murder of two teenage girls was reported in the Katra village of Budaun district, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was widely reported in the press in India as well as overseas. After an extensive investigation, CBI concluded that there was no gang rape and the suspects were released. However, on 28 October 2015 the POCSO court rejected the CBI closure report; it was a major setback for CBI.

The Yadav Singh corruption case is an alleged event of corruption in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Yadav Singh was the Engineer-in-Chief of the Noida Authority, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). Raids conducted by the Income Tax Department in November 2014 at several locations, including his residence in Sector-51 Noida, showed that Singh owned property disproportionate to his known sources of income.

On 16 December 2019, former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar was convicted for the rape on 20 December 2019 and sentenced to life imprisonment. Further, Sengar was found guilty in the death of the girl's father in judicial custody.

The Uttar Pradesh illegal sand mining scam is a political scandal relating to events that occurred in 2012–2017 during the Samajwadi Party (SP) rule. It is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the 2016 orders of Allahabad High Court for allowing illegal mining in 7 districts of Uttar Pradesh – Shamli, Hamirpur, Fatehpur, Siddharthnagar, Deoria, Kaushambi and Saharanpur – in violation of rules and ban by the National Green Tribunal. On 5 January 2019, the CBI raided 14 suspects in 14 locations in 7 cities across Uttar Pradesh and Delhi pertaining to this scam, and incriminating evidence was seized.

Bhukhya Chandarakala Niru, also known as B. Chandrakala, is an Indian government official IAS officer in Uttar Pradesh. She is known for taking action against her subordinates, mostly due to her widely circulated videos in which she went on surprise inspections, pulling up civic officials over lack of quality in building material or poor sanitation.
