Gayatri Prasad Prajapati was an Indian politician. He was convicted of rape, criminal conspiracy, and criminal intimidation. In 2021 he was sentenced to 5yr jail by Allahabad High court. He was a former cabinet minister in the government of Uttar Pradesh and served as Minister of Transport. He also served as a mining minister.
Prajapati was born in a poor Kumhar family from Amethi. He established Gayadai College there.
On a complaint filed by activist and advocate Nutan Thakur, Prajapati was under the Lokayukta scanner for corruption in illegal mining. [1] Later Nutan Thakur's husband ex IPS officer and Present, Adhikar Sena alleged that ex Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav threatened him for his wife's Lokayukta case against Prajapati. [2] Nutan Thakur also registered a criminal case against Prajapati for framing her and her husband in a false rape case, which is presently under trial before a Lucknow Court. [3] On 17 February 2017, the Supreme Court of India directed Uttar Pradesh police to lodge a complaint in connection with a rape case.
He was arrested in Lucknow on March 15, 2017 after an escape on February 27, 2017. [4]
In 2016 Allahabad High Court charged him with allowing illegal mining in his capacity of mining minister in Shamli, Hamirpur, Fatehpur, Siddharthnagar, Deoria, Kaushambi and Saharanpur - in violation of rules and ban by the National Green Tribunal. [5] [6] [7] [8]
A woman from Chitrakoot, alleged that Prajapati had raped her three years previously. Prajapati reportedly took photos and continued to rape her for two years by threatening to leak the photos. He also falsely promised to give her an important position in Party. [9]
The victim later filed a complaint. However, the U.P. Police refused to file an FIR. The woman then approached Supreme Court, which directed the police to lodge a report. In February, 2017 he absconded, but was later arrested in Lucknow. [10]
On 12 Nov. 2021, he was sentenced to life by MP MLA court Lucknow.

Kumari Mayawati is an Indian politician who served as the 18th Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from 1995 to 1995, 1997 to 1997, 2002 to 2003 and from 2007 to 2012. In 1997 and in 2002 she was chief minister with outside support from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the second time only for a year up to 26 August 2003 due to BJP withdrawing support.

Obulapuram Mining Company also known as OMC or OMCPL is an iron ore mining company located in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh in India. The company is owned by the brothers, G. Karunakara Reddy, G. Janardhana Reddy and G. Somashekara Reddy, who were ministers in the Government of Karnataka. The company has been fighting charges of illegal mining in forest lands on the Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh border. OMCPL holds iron ore mining leases in 134 hectares in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh and iron ore reserves in these leases are estimated to be around 100 million tonnes. OMCPL is also the promoter of a Bramhani Industries Limited, an iron and steel producer. JSW steel is said to be in talks for partial ownership of OMC.

Uttar Pradesh food grain scam took place between years 2002 and 2010, in Uttar Pradesh state in India, wherein food grain worth ₹350 billion (US$4.2 billion), meant to be distributed amongst the poor, through Public Distribution System (PDS) and other welfare schemes like Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), Jawahar Rozgar Yojana and Midday Meal Scheme for Below Poverty Line (BPL) card holders, was diverted to the open market. Mulayam Singh Yadav was an Indian politician, a socialist figure and founder of the Samajwadi Party. Over the course of his political career spanning more than six decades, he served for three terms as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and also as the Union Minister of Defence in the Government of India. A long-time parliamentarian, he was a seven-time Member of Parliament representing Mainpuri, Azamgarh, Sambhal and Kannauj constituencies in the Lok Sabha, a ten-time member of the Legislative Assembly, member of the Legislative Council and the Leader of Opposition several times as well. Yadav was a prominent figure of his time in Indian politics, and was often referred to as Netaji and sometimes Dhartiputra by his party leaders and workers. In 2023, he was posthumously conferred with Padma Vibhushan, India’s second highest civilian award by the Government of India.
Satyendar Kumar Jain is an Indian politician who is member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and a former Cabinet Minister in the Government of Delhi led by Arvind Kejriwal. Jain is an architect by profession. On 27 May 2014, a gang rape and murder of two teenage girls was reported in the Katra village of Budaun district, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was widely reported in the press in India as well as overseas. After an extensive investigation, CBI concluded that there was no gang rape and the suspects were released. However, on 28 October 2015 the POCSO court rejected the CBI closure report; it was a major setback for CBI.

The Unnao rape case refers to the gang rape of a 17-year-old girl on 4 June 2017 in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, India. On 16 December 2019, former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar was convicted for the rape on 20 December 2019 and sentenced to life imprisonment. Further, Sengar was found guilty in the death of the girl's father in judicial custody.
Kuldeep Singh Sengar is an Indian politician and former member of Legislative Assembly belonging to the Bhartiya Janta Party from Unnao district, Uttar Pradesh who has been convicted of rape, murder, attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy and criminal intimidation. He is the main defendant in the Unnao rape case and was booked under the POCSO Act. He is also accused of killing three people, including the victim's father in police custody and later her aunts by a conspired truck accident. A Delhi District and Sessions Court upheld an investigation conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) that had ruled out any foul play in the Unnao rape survivor's accident in 2019.
The Uttar Pradesh illegal sand mining scam is a political scandal relating to events that occurred in 2012–2017 during the Samajwadi Party (SP) rule. It is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the 2016 orders of Allahabad High Court for allowing illegal mining in 7 districts of Uttar Pradesh – Shamli, Hamirpur, Fatehpur, Siddharthnagar, Deoria, Kaushambi and Saharanpur – in violation of rules and ban by the National Green Tribunal. On 5 January 2019, the CBI raided 14 suspects in 14 locations in 7 cities across Uttar Pradesh and Delhi pertaining to this scam, and incriminating evidence was seized.

Manzil Saini is an Indian Police Service officer of 2005 batch, who previously served as Senior Superintendent of Police for Lucknow. She is the first woman to assume the post of SSP of Lucknow in the history of Uttar Pradesh. She has also served as Deputy Inspector General in National Human Rights Commission. In 2021, she was raised to the post of Deputy Inspector General of National Security Guards. Saini has also served in Etawah, the hometown of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav. She gained nationwide fame for her role in investigating Amit Kumar Kidney Racket case. Saini is an alumnus of Delhi School of Economics, and she is a gold medalist from there.
