The women's 100 metre freestyle was a swimming event held as part of the swimming at the 1932 Summer Olympics programme. It was the fifth appearance of the event, which was established in 1912. The competition was held on Saturday August 6, 1932 and on Monday August 8, 1932.

Marion "Mike" Menning is a former politician and a former member of the Minnesota Senate and the Minnesota House of Representatives from southwestern Minnesota. He was first elected to the House as a representative of District 26A in 1974, served one term, and then ran successfully for the District 26 senate seat in 1976. He was re-elected to the Senate in 1980. Because of the 1980 redistricting, that term was two years in duration. He represented all or portions of Murray, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock counties.

Willard Gaylin is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry Emeritus at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and co-founder, along with Daniel Callahan, of The Hastings Center, an independent research institute focused on bioethics. Clasina Cornelia "Cor" Kint was a Dutch backstroke swimmer who won the gold medal at the 1938 European Aquatics Championships. Between 1938 and 1940 she was three times national champion in the 100 m backstroke and set five world records and four European records in the 100 m, 200 m, 100 yd and 150 yd backstroke events. Her 150 yd and 200 m records stood for 11 year and her 100 m world record was not broken for a period of 21 years - the longest a record has ever stood in swimming. In 1971, she was introduced to the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
