General Bytes is a hardware and a software company that produces products related to Bitcoin, Blockchain and Open Source technologies. General Bytes was founded in 2013, is headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic with offices in Bradenton, Florida and is currently one of the largest Bitcoin ATM manufacturers in the world. Bitcoin () is a cryptocurrency, a form of electronic cash. It is a decentralized digital currency without a central bank or single administrator that can be sent from user to user on the peer-to-peer bitcoin network without the need for intermediaries.

Bitcoin ATM

A Bitcoin ATM is a kiosk that allows a person to purchase Bitcoin by using cash or debit card. Some Bitcoin ATMs offer bi-directional functionality enabling both the purchase of Bitcoin as well as the sale of Bitcoin for cash. In some cases, Bitcoin ATM providers require users to have an existing account to transact on the machine.

General Bytes began selling its first Bitcoin ATM in 2014, [5] [6] and by 2018 there were over 3,000 in more than 70 countries. [7] It was the first bitcoin machine company to incorporate near field communication (NFC) technology into their range of hardware products. [8]

Sheep Marketplace

Sheep Marketplace was an anonymous marketplace set up as a Tor hidden service. It launched in March 2013 and was one of the lesser known sites to gain popularity with the well publicized closure of the Silk Road marketplace later that year. It ceased operation in December 2013, when it announced it was shutting down after a vendor stole $6 million worth of users' bitcoins.

The legal status of bitcoin varies substantially from state to state and is still undefined or changing in many of them. Whereas the majority of countries do not make the usage of bitcoin itself illegal, its status as money varies, with differing regulatory implications.

Vladimír Lulek was a Czech murderer who killed his wife and four children on December 22, 1986, and also attempted to kill his neighbour. He was executed on February 2, 1989 at Pankrác Prison in Prague. He was the last person executed in the Czech Socialist Republic.

Circle is a peer-to-peer payments technology company. It was founded by Jeremy Allaire and Sean Neville in October 2013. Circle's mobile payment platform, Circle Pay, allows users to hold, send, and receive traditional fiat currencies. In September 2015, Circle received the first BitLicense issued from the New York State Department of Financial Services. In April 2016, the British government approved the first virtual currency licensure to Circle. Circle is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts.

Bitcoin Center NYC was founded in 2013 in the financial district of New York City, located 100 feet away from the New York Stock Exchange. The center was the "preeminent bitcoin location in the area" and hosted "countless classes, talks, and a trading floor." The center's trading floor, called "Satoshi Square", featured live, in-person trading of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Rezidence Eliška

Rezidence Eliška is highrise residential building in Prague district Vysočany. It is 93.6 metres (307 ft) tall. Construction started in 2011 and ended in 2013. It has 25 floors above ground and 2 under ground. There are 350 flats inside the building. It was designed by Czech architect Ivan Sládek, the cost was 500 million CZK.

Alza.cz a.s. is an e-commerce store operating in the Czech Republic, Slovakia (Alza.sk), and since 2014, in other European Union countries. It’s one of the largest online consumer electronics retailers in Central Europe with a strong stance in the toys, hobby, media and entertainment, perfume, watches and beauty segments too. It operates a chain of brick-and-mortar stores bearing the same name (Alza). The company was founded in 1994 under the name Alzasoft.
