Geneva High School is a public secondary school located in Geneva, Alabama. The school serves about 390 students in grades 9-12 and is a part of the Geneva City School District.

Academics

In 2000, Geneva High School student David N. Simmons was selected as a Presidential Scholar. [5]

In 2011, Megan Saunders was named the first female state FFA officer for the state of Alabama from Geneva. The last state officer was Larry Justice in 1961. Women were not admitted until 1969.

Athletics

Geneva High School is a member of the Alabama High School Athletic Association competing in Division 3A as of 2007. The school's athletic teams are named the Panthers and the school colors are black and gold. [4]

The girls softball team won the Division 4A state slow pitch championship in 1999 and 2000 and Division 4A-5A-6A championship in 2001. [6]

In 1975, Eddie Brooks won the Division 3A state championship for the 3-mile cross country. [7] In 2000, Tommy Casey won the Division 4A golf state championship. [8]

Geneva won the Division 3A-4A state championships in boys track and field in 1987 and 1988 and won the Division 4A state championship in 1989. [9]

The members of the 2007-2008 girls basketball team were the State Runners-Up under Head Coach Rich Bixby.

The Pocket Athletic Conference (PAC) is a high school athletic conference in Southwestern Indiana with its headquarters at Forest Park. Most of the conference's 13 members are mainly Class 2A and 3A public high schools currently located in Daviess, Dubois, Gibson, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, and Warrick counties. Only one, Tecumseh, is a 1A and as such operates its football program independently of the PAC and remains independent in the sport, playing schools much closer to its size than its much larger borderline 3A, 3A, or 4A fellow members.

Aledo High School is a public high school located in Aledo, Texas, United States and classified as a 5A school by the UIL. It is part of the Aledo Independent School District located in south central Parker County. Wylie High School is a public high school located in Abilene, Texas, United States. It is the sole high school of the Wylie Independent School District. Wylie ISD serves the southernmost areas of Abilene, as well as the ever-growing suburbs and exurbs in east central Taylor County. WHS is one of three class 5A high schools within the city limits of Abilene, joining Abilene Independent School District schools Abilene High and Abilene Cooper.
