Georg Gilgenreiner (born 28 August 1948) is a former international speedway rider from Germany. [1]

Speedway career

Gilgenreiner was champion of West Germany in 1980 at the German Individual Speedway Championship. [2] [3]

He reached the final of the Speedway World Pairs Championship in the 1981 Speedway World Pairs Championship. [4] He has also reached the final of the Individual Speedway Long Track World Championship on two occasions in 1981 and 1982. [1]

Ivan Gerald Mauger was a New Zealand motorcycle speedway rider. He won a record six World Championships (Finals), a feat equalled only with the inclusion of the Speedway GP Championships by Tony Rickardsson of Sweden who won one World Final and five GP Championships. Mauger rode for several British teams – Wimbledon Dons, Newcastle Diamonds, Belle Vue Aces, Exeter Falcons and the Hull Vikings. In 2010, Mauger was named an FIM Legend for his motorcycling achievements.

Kenneth Malcolm Carter , was a British motorcycle speedway rider. He was a World Pairs champion and British champion. On Wednesday, 21 May 1986, he shot dead his wife, Pam, and then killed himself, orphaning their two young children in the process.
