George Anthony Canale (born August 11,1965) is an American former Major League Baseball first baseman. He played Major League Baseball for three seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers.
George Canale graduated from Cave Spring High School (Roanoke,Virginia) in 1983 and attended Virginia Tech. [1] from 1984 to 1986. George hit 76 home runs during his collegiate career,currently 1st all-time at Virginia Tech and 7th all-time in Division I NCAA baseball. [2] During the 1986 season,George Canale hit the most home runs in Division I baseball with 29 home runs. [2] The same year,George was chosen as an All-American first baseman on the 1986 College Baseball All-America Team. [3] His accomplishment led to his induction to the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame.
George was drafted by the Brewers in the 6th round of the 1986 amateur draft. Canale played his first professional season with their rookie league Helena Gold Sox in 1986,and his last with the Pittsburgh Pirates' Triple-A Nashville Sounds in 1998.
William James"B. J."Surhoff is an American former catcher,outfielder,first baseman,third baseman,and designated hitter in Major League Baseball (MLB). Over his 18-year MLB career,he played every position except pitcher. After playing for the Orioles from 1996 to 2000,he rejoined the team in 2003 and played through the 2005 season. He started his career with the Milwaukee Brewers (1987–1995) and also played for the Atlanta Braves (2000–2002). Surhoff began his career as a catcher,and after playing third base in the mid-1990s,shifted to become primarily a left fielder. Surhoff was the first-overall pick in the 1985 MLB Draft.

William Derrick Bates is an American former professional baseball second baseman and pinch runner who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Milwaukee Brewers and the Cincinnati Reds. In 29 career games,Bates had a batting average of .125 with six hits,two runs batted in (RBI),11 runs,and eight stolen bases. Though his defensive position was at second base,the Reds primarily used Bates as a pinch runner. After he scored the winning run in Game 2 of the 1990 World Series,Bates never played in MLB again.
