George M. Hearn,Jr. (born October 28,1951) is an American lawyer and politician. From 2009 through 2013,he served as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from the 105th District,representing parts of Horry County,South Carolina. He lives in Conway,South Carolina where he owns his own law firm and is a member of the Republican party. [1] Hearn did not seek reelection in 2012 in order to spend more time at home. His wife is South Carolina Supreme Court Justice Kaye G. Hearn. [2]

Robert Edge Parkway is a connection highway in North Myrtle Beach,South Carolina. It begins at U.S. Route 17 (US 17) and Main Street,crosses the Intracoastal Waterway,has an interchange with South Carolina Highway 31 (SC 31) or the Carolina Bays Parkway,and terminates at an intersection with SC 90. The project consisted of upgrading Firetower Road,adding a new interchange for SC 31,expanding Main Street in North Myrtle Beach to accommodate the increase in traffic,and a 1,000-foot bridge (300 m) over the Intracoastal Waterway which includes a 10-foot-wide path (3.0 m) for walkers and bicycles. Formerly known as the Main Street Connector,the road has been named for Robert Edge Sr.,the first mayor of North Myrtle Beach starting in 1968. For twelve years before that,Edge was the mayor of Crescent Beach,one of the four towns which,through Edge's efforts,became North Myrtle Beach. The road opened September 3,2009.

Carolina Southern Railroad was located off of Main Street in Conway,South Carolina,and was one of the few remaining train depots/lines in South Carolina. The railroad was originally erected in late 1886 and the first train steamed into the Conway Depot in December 1887. R.J. Corman Railroad Group took over the operations in 2015.

Elias Horry was a lawyer,politician,businessman and plantation owner who twice served in the South Carolina General Assembly as well as the intendant (mayor) of Charleston,South Carolina,serving two terms from 1815 to 1817 and 1820 to 1821.
Horry-Guignard House is a historic home located at Columbia,South Carolina. It was built before 1813,and is a two-story,late Federal style,modified I-house type frame dwelling. The front facade features a one-story,full-width balustraded porch supported by square columns. During the winter of 1813–1814,the main hall was widened from six feet to eleven feet. To do this,the house was sawed in half and the two ends were pulled apart to rest on two new foundations. It was probably built by Peter Horry (1747-1815),a Revolutionary War Colonel and Brigadier General of the South Carolina Militia. Later,the house was acquired by John Gabriel Guignard (1751-1822),the Surveyor General of South Carolina from 1798 to 1802. Guignard is responsible for the early design of the city and laid out the first streets of Columbia.
On December 17,2013,Heather Elvis,of Carolina Forest,South Carolina,United States,went on a first date with a man that ended when he dropped her off at her apartment the following morning at 1:15 a.m. The date had been Elvis' attempt to move on after a relationship with Sidney Moorer,a repairman she had met through her job at a local restaurant,that had ended two months earlier. At 1:44 a.m.,Elvis called her roommate,Brianna Warrelmann,who was visiting family,to tell her how the date had gone. The conversation lasted approximately ten minutes. Warrelman had advised Elvis against returning Sidney's calls,and cautioned Elvis "not to do anything rash and to get some sleep." Elvis' cell phone activity ended that day around 6 a.m.,and she has not been seen or heard from since.
Baby Boy Horry was a formerly unidentified American baby and murder victim whose body was found off of South Carolina Highway 544,on the outskirts of Conway in Horry County,South Carolina on December 4,2008. The case remained cold for over 11 years,until his parents were identified in March 2020. He was killed by his mother,Jennifer Sahr,when she left him in a box on the side of Highway 544,leaving him to die of hypothermia. Sahr was arrested in March 2020,and pleaded guilty to manslaughter in his death in 2022. She is currently awaiting sentencing and faces up to 30 years in prison.
