Georgia Scott is an Australian composer, orchestrator and arranger. [1] She graduated with Honours from the Royal College of Music, London and completed her Master of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2020 where she was supported by the Doris Burnett-Ford scholarship as part of the 2018-2019 Composing Women Program. Georgia was the recipient of the 2021 Australia Council National Arts and Disability Award for Young Artist. [3] She has worked with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, [2] Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, [4] Sydney Chamber Opera, [5] The Australian Ballet, [6] Moorambilla Voices, [7] Gondwana Junior, [8] Australian World Orchestra, [3] Flautist Claire Chase, [9] Orchestra Victoria, [6] Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra [3] and West Australian Youth Orchestra. Georgia's notable works include "Her Dark Marauder" which was performed by the Sydney Chamber Opera at Carriageworks and premiered online in 2020, [11] and was a finalist in the 2021 APRA AMC Art Music Awards for Dramatic Work of the Year. [3] [12]

The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (ASO) is a South Australian orchestra based in Adelaide, established in 1936. Dr. Halyna Ovcharenko is an SPNM-shortlisted composer. Born in Luhansk in Ukraine, Halyna Ovcharenko was given a scholarship at the age of eleven to the Musical College of the Kiev State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, a specialist school for talented children. Whilst at the Conservatory, she studied composition with Yurii Ishchenko unil 1987. After graduating in Music from the Conservatory, she continued her study of composition in Warsaw. Its repertoire typically consists of world premieres of Australian operas and recent international works receiving their Australian premieres, including stagings of song cycles or non-traditional stage works.
