Gerard P. "Gerry" Conley Jr. (born c. 1954) is an American lawyer and politician. He served in the Maine Legislature from 1988 to 1994.

Conley was admitted to the Maine and Massachusetts bars and served as an assistant Maine Attorney General. He was then elected to the Maine House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1986 and 1988 and the Maine Senate in 1990 and 1992. [1] [2]

Personal

Conley was born in Portland, Maine. His father, Gerard Conley Sr., served in the Maine Senate from 1968 to 1984 as well as on the Portland, Maine City Council. The younger Conley graduated from Cheverus High School, earned a bachelor's degree from Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire and a J.D. [3] degree from University of Maine School of Law.

In November 1991, the then-37 year old State Senator became engaged to 26 year old Rep. Mary F. Cahill of Mattawamkeag after meeting during the previous session. [4]

Robert William Clifford is an American politician, lawyer and retired associate justice of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. He was appointed to this position on August 1, 1986 by then-governor Joseph Brennan. He was reappointed to seven-year terms in 1993, 2000, and 2007. He retired in 2009.

Mark W. Lawrence is an American lawyer and Democratic politician currently serving in the Maine Senate. Joseph C. Brannigan was an American social worker and politician from Maine. Brannigan served as a Democratic State Senator from Maine's 10th District, representing part of Portland and Westbrook. Prior to joining the State Senate, he represented part of suburban Portland in District 117 from 2000 to 2006 in the Maine House of Representatives.

He spent his final term in the Senate as President of the Maine Senate (1983–1984). His son, Jerry Conley, served in the House from 1986 to 1990 and Senate from 1990 to 1994.

Joseph Rafferty Jr. is an American educator, high school gridiron football coach, and Democratic politician from Maine. Rafferty has been the head coach of the Kennebunk High School Rams football team since 1979 and is currently serving his first term in the Maine Senate representing District 34, which consists of Kennebunk, Wells, Acton, Lebanon, North Berwick, and part of Berwick. Rafferty was born in 1955 and grew up in Woburn, Massachusetts. He attended Springfield College, graduated in 1977 and began teaching and coaching at Kennebunk High School in 1978. As an educator, he was active in the teachers' unions and helped negotiate contracts on their behalf. He retired from full-time teaching in 2018 but continues to coach football. Rafferty was elected to the Maine Senate in 2020 and is currently serving his first term.

Anne Carney is an American Democratic politician and attorney from Maine. She currently serves in the Maine Senate representing District 29, which consists of Cape Elizabeth, South Portland, and part of Scarborough. Carney was born in Baltimore, Maryland and attended Haverford College where she received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.). She completed a Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S) from Harvard University in 1987 and moved to Maine in 1988. Carney completed a Juris Doctor at the University of Maine School of Law in 1990 and practiced employment, civil rights and municipal law for 16 years. She was a pro bono In-House Volunteer Attorney at Pine Tree Legal Assistance for eight years before running for Maine House of Representatives District 30 in 2018. In 2020, Carney was elected to her first term in the Maine Senate.

W. Edward "Ed" Crockett is an American politician who has served as a member of the Maine House of Representatives since December 2018. He also wrote a memoir for his father, Walter Crockett. He is also the president of a soft drink company named Capt’n Eli's Soda.
