Gerard Kassar,also known as Jerry Kassar,is an American political operative and former government official. He is currently the chairman of the Conservative Party of New York,a role he has served in since January 2019. [1] Jerry succeeded longtime chairman Michael Long.
Kassar began his political working on campaigns for public office and holding official titles in the Conservative Party.
In January of 1989,he was elected the Brooklyn Conservative Party chairman and in 1992 he was elected New York State Conservative Party vice chairman. [1]
In 1981 he was elected to be the national director of Young Americans for Freedom (YAF),a conservative youth group. He served as director through 1983. [2]
Kassar held senior staff roles in the state assembly minority and as chief of staff to state senator Marty Golden. He was appointed by Governor Pataki and confirmed by the NYS Senate to be a commissioner of the interstate environmental commission in 1995.
He also served as the president of the Dyker Heights civic association in Brooklyn NY and on the board of trustees of the former Victory Memorial Hospital.

Kassar is a lifelong resident of Brooklyn,New York [4] where he resides in the Dyker Heights community with his wife,Janet.

The Conservative Party of New York State is an American political party founded in 1962 following conservative dissatisfaction with the Republican Party in New York. The Independence Party is a political party in the U.S. state of New York. The party was founded in 1991 by Dr. Gordon Black,Tom Golisano,and Laureen Oliver from Rochester,New York,and acquired ballot status in 1994. They lost their ballot status in 2020 under a change in the New York state election law that required at least 130,000 votes on the party line every two years. Although often associated with Ross Perot,as the party came to prominence in the wake of Perot's 1992 presidential campaign,it was created prior to Perot's run. In 2020,it affiliated with the Alliance Party,but disaffiliated in 2021. It used to have one elected member of the New York State Assembly,Fred Thiele,until Thiele switched his party affiliation to the Democratic Party in 2022. On December 9,2022,New York Governor Kathy Hochul signed S1851A,banning the use of the words "Independent" and "Independence" from use political party names in New York State.
Frank J. Fahrenkopf Jr. is an American attorney,political executive,and lobbyist who was chairman of the Republican National Committee from 1983 to 1989. Fahrenkopf is co-founder,and currently co-chairman,of the Commission on Presidential Debates,which conducts the United States general election presidential and vice presidential debates. Simcha Felder is an American politician from Borough Park,Brooklyn. He represents the 17th district of the New York State Senate. Felder has been elected to multiple offices as a Democrat,but is known for having caucused with the Republicans during the early part of his New York State Senate tenure. Prior to serving in the State Senate,Felder represented the 44th district in the New York City Council.
