Gertrude Kazarwa (born 28 December 1964) is a Rwandan politician. She is a lawyer and member of Rwanda's Liberal Party. Kazarwa was a Senator from 2014 to 2019. In August 2024, she was elected the third female Speaker of Rwanda's Chamber of Deputies.

Gertrude Kazarwa was born on December 28, 1964. [1]
In 2003, Kazarwa earned a bachelor's degree in management from the Kigali Independent University. [2] Later, Kazarwa moved to the Netherlands to study for an MBA with a concentration in Finance and Administration from the Maastricht School of Management. [3] She obtained her MBA in 2010. [4]
From 2014 to 2019, Kazarwa served in the Rwandan Senate as a member of the Liberal Party. [5] Kazarwa replaced outgoing Senator Donatille Mukabalisa who left to become a Member of Parliament. [6]
After serving in the Senate, From 2019 to July 2024, she founded and served as the managing director of Bright Stars Foundation Academy School. [2] During this time, Kazarwa additionally returned to university to study for a law degree at the University of Lay Adventists of Kigali. She earned a bachelor's degree in law in 2021. [4]
On 14 August 2024 Kazarwa was elected Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies. [3] [7] With her election, she became the third woman speaker of the Rwandan Chamber of Deputies. [8]
