Ghari or Surati Ghari is a sweet Gujarati dish from Surat, Gujarat, India. Ghari is made of puri batter, milk 'mawa', ghee and sugar - made into round shapes with sweet filling, to be consumed on Chandani Padva festival. [1] It is also available in many varieties and flavours such as pistachio, almond-elachi and mawa. [2]

Priest Nirmaladasji referred Devshankar Shukla to make Ghari in 1838.

Ghari was prepared by the Devshankar Shukla for Tatya Tope to provide extra strength to the freedom fighter's soldiers in 1857 on a full moon day which is now celebrated as chandi padwa. However, it began to be consumed during inauspicious occasions too, particularly by people of some castes in the crematorium for peace to the soul of the dead. [3]

Gudhi Padwa is a spring-time festival that marks the traditional new year for Marathi Hindus. It is celebrated in and near Maharashtra on the first day of the Chaitra month to mark the beginning of the New year according to the lunisolar Hindu calendar. The word पाडवा (pāḍavā) or पाडवो (pāḍavo) or पड्ड्वा/पाड्ड्वो (pāḍḍvā/pāḍḍvo) comes from the Sanskrit word प्रतिपद (pratipada) or प्रतिपदा (pratipadā) in Sanskrit, which refers to the first day of a lunar fortnight. The festival is observed with colorful floor decorations called rangoli, a special Gudhi flag, street processions, dancing and festive foods.

Fraud Saiyaan is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Sourabh Shrivastava, presented by Prakash Jha, and produced by Disha Jha and Kanishk Gangwal. Ventura AirConnect

Ventura AirConnect is an Indian nonscheduled airline operating flights in the state of Gujarat with Cessna 208 Caravan aircraft in its fleet. Initially operating flights within Madhya Pradesh, the airline shifted to Gujarat upon being acquired by a group of Gujarati diamond merchants in 2014. The airline underwent a change in ownership and had to suspend operations in 2015. After winning a contract from the Government of Gujarat to start flights in the state, Ventura AirConnect resumed operations in June 2016 and made Surat Airport its operating hub.
