Ghosty is a 2023 Indian Tamil-language comedy horror film written and directed by Kalyaan, and produced by Seed Pictures. It stars Kajal Aggarwal, K. S. Ravikumar, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, and Urvashi. The film was released on 17 March 2023 in theatres and digitally on ZEE5 on 14 April 2023. The film's first look poster was released on 14 April 2021. [3] [4] Kajal Aggarwal did a promo shoot for the film in July 2021. [5] [6] The teaser for the film was released in October 2022. [7] [8] Later, the trailer was released. [9] [10] The film's release date was also announced in the trailer as 17 March 2023. [11] [12] [13]

Reception

The film was released on 17 March 2023 in theatres. Logesh Balachandran from the Times of India gave it 1.5 stars out of 5 and stated that "Overall, Ghosty is another Tamil film that fails to do justice to the horror-comedy genre," [14] Chandhini R from Cinema Express gave a negative review and gave a 1.5 rating out of 5. [15] India Herald critic wrote that "the movie fall flates with viewers because of its weak one-liners and ridiculous circumstances." [16] Dinamalar critic gave the film a negative review and 1 star out of 5. [17] Maalai Malar critic gave 2.5 out of 5 and gave a mixed review. [18]

Kajal Aggarwal is an Indian actress who primarily appears in Telugu and Tamil films, alongside Hindi films. She made her debut with a minor role in the Hindi film Kyun! Ho Gaya Na... (2004). Aggarwal debuted in Telugu cinema with Lakshmi Kalyanam (2007), and was a box office failure. The year's other Telugu film, Chandamama, became a commercial success.
