Maulana Hazrat Khalifa Mian Ghulam Muhammad Din Puri (1835 - 24 March 1936) was an Islamic scholar also known as the founder of Dinpur. [1] He was originally from Jhang and belonged to the Rind Baloch family. He also played an active role in the Silk handkerchief movement. [2]

Ghulam Muhammad was born in 1835 in the Mouza Alam Khan of eastern Jhang District. [3]

There was an old man named Hafiz Muhammad Siddique of Mouza Bharchondi Sharif in Sindh. Maulana Ghulam Muhammad was also impressed by them, and from time to time visited Choundi and lived in their service. Hafiz Mohammad Siddique tested and trained Maulana Ghulam Mohammad's inner abilities. [4]

He died on 24 March 1936. Maulana Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi, Vice Chancellor of Bahawalpur University led the funeral prayers. He is buried in Dinpur Cemetery. [2]

Hafiz Muhammad Siddique, was an Islamic scholar and a Sufi of the Qadiriyya order from Sindh and founder of school of Bharchundi Shareef Khanqah in Sindh.


Din Muhammad Wafai was a writer, poet and journalist of Sindhi language who was a member of the Khilafat Movement.

Ghulam Mohammad Grami was born on 30 December 1920 in Mehar, Dadu District, Sindh. He belonged with the Laghari Baloch tribe of the Sindh. He was a scholar, journalist and poet. He died on 15 September 1976.

He was the founder of Jamia Anwar-ul-Quran Adam Town North Karachi, former Central Emir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and former Emir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Sindh Province, Emir of Pakistan Shariat Council and Patron of Jamia Makhzan-ul-Uloom Khanpur. He was the son of Abdullah Darkhawasti. He died in Islamabad on 1 January 2020.

Abdul Halim Chishti Nomani was a Pakistani Islamic scholar, librarian, writer and the first PhD in library sciences in Pakistan. He was a disciple of Hussain Ahmad Madani. He was head of the Department of Hadith Studies at Jamia Uloom Islamia and the younger brother of Abdul Rasheed Naumani.

Sufi Muhammad Sarwar was a Pakistani Islamic scholar, author and Sheikh al-Hadith at Jamia Ashrafia. He studied at Jamia Khair al-Madaris and Jamia Ashrafia.
