Giedrius Drukteinis (born 17 January 1970) is a Lithuanian author,TV presenter,communications coach,journalist and politician. In the 2024 parliamentary election,he was elected as member of the Seimas on the list of the Social Democratic Party. [1]
Drukteinis was born on 17 January 1970 in Vilnius and graduated with a degree in journalism from Vilnius University in 1994. From 1993 to 1997,he headed the Advertising Department of Lithuanian Airlines,and was director of the Information Department of the Lithuanian Development Agency from 1999 to 2001. [2] Since 2003,he is the director of Reichmann Communications,a communications training company,and is one of the company's lecturers. [3]
He was the presenter of the programme "Vartotojųkontrolė" (English:"Consumer Control") on consumer education,consumer rights and home cooking,on LRT televizija, [4] since 2018 [5] . He was one of the participants in the LRT project Maestro,modelled after the BBC project with the same name,in 2021. [6]
Drukteinis is the author of nine books on etiquette,marketing,Ulster,Israel and the Vietnam War. [7] He is married. [2]
Drukteinis joined the Social Democratic Party and ran as the party's candidate in the Karšuva constituency,which includes Jurbarkas and the surrounding district,in the 2020 parliamentary election,where he finished fourth with 13.03 percent of the vote. [8] He stated that he joined the Social Democrats because his father is a longtime member and because of his own respect for the party. [9]
In the 2023 municipal election in the Jurbarkas District Municipality,Drukteinis was elected to the municipal council on the Social Democratic list. [10] In the 2024 parliamentary election,he ran as the Social Democratic candidate in the Pilaitė-Karoliniškės constituency,but failed to advance to the second round - however,he was elected to the Seimas on the party's list in the multi-member constituency. Drukteinis describes himself as "a supporter of old social-democratic ideas". [11] He is known for candid political commentary. [12] In 2017,he proposed the formation of a nationwide mandatory uniformed youth organization for education of youth and national unity. [13]
The Social Democratic Party of Lithuania is a centre-left and social democratic political party in Lithuania. Founded as an underground Marxist organisation in 1896,it is the oldest extant party in Lithuania. During the time of the Soviet Union,the party went into exile,emerging once again after the end of communist rule in 1989.

Presidential elections were held in Lithuania in December 1997 and January 1998. Artūras Paulauskas finished first in the first round on 21 December 1997 with a significant margin,with Valdas Adamkus finishing second,but neither received a majority of the vote. Adamkus defeated Paulauskas in the runoff,held on 4 January 1998. With a vote difference of 0.74%,it is the closest result in the history of presidential elections in Lithuania since 1993.

AušrinėArmonaitė is a Lithuanian politician who served as the chairperson of the Freedom Party from 2019 to 2024. Previously a member of the Liberal Movement and a vice chairperson from 2017 until 2018,Armonaitėwas first elected to the Seimas in the 2016 parliamentary election. In 2018,she resigned from the Liberal Movement and later joined the social liberal and progressive Freedom Party. She led the party into the 2020 parliamentary election,where the party won 11 seats and became represented in the Seimas for the first time.

The Lithuanian People's Party was a minor political party in Lithuania with an unclear political orientation. It was established by the initiative of Russian-Lithuanian businessman Vladimir Romanov and only participated in the 2012 Lithuanian parliamentary election. After Romanov fled to Russia to avoid prosecution for a trial for bank fraud,the party ceased existing.
DovilėŠakalienė is a Lithuanian psychologist,journalist and politician. She was elected to the Seimas as an independent on the list of the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union in 2016,but left the party's parliamentary group and joined the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania in 2017.

Viešumoje dažnai savo griežtą nuomonę reiškiantis vyras prisijungė prie iniciatyvos „Idėja Lietuvai" ir pasidalijo savo idėja, kurios įgyvendinimas, anot jo, gali ateities Lietuvai suteikti šviesesnių spalvų.
